The Answer To "Does _____ Work?"

For years, I've followed discussions that begin with a question
like this:

"Does ____ Work?"

Autoblogging
Email marketing
Microniche site building
Amazon.com affiliate selling
CPA promotion
Facebook selling
Fiverr gigs
Ezine Articles submission

... whatever.

And on several occasions, I've caught myself re-thinking what
I *know* from experience to be a perfectly viable and valid
approach - just because someone passionately argued against
it!

Taking a step back, this strikes me.

1. If it works...

Will someone who knows it works willingly go around telling
everyone else it does - especially if the tactic is likely
to get diluted in impact/profit by many others using it?

2. If it does not work...

Will someone who knows it willingly let their competitors
know that, so the competition will save time and money
wasted in trying it out - and focus on more viable methods
that will eat into THEIR business?

3. If they don't know...

Will someone looking to divert competitors' attention
think it a bad idea to mis-direct curious folks in any
particular direction?

I am *not* saying that everyone discussing issues will
be thinking this way.

But this is DEFINITELY something everyone FOLLOWING these
discussions MUST keep in mind!

Otherwise, you just might end up abandoning a perfectly
good method, or chasing one doomed to failure (or even one
that risks your reputation and/or business)

What to do, then?

Test it. Conservatively.

Don't put all your eggs into one basket. Try a smaller
experiment, measure your results, decide whether or not
it works, and then either drop it or scale it bigger.

Or else, consult with someone whom you know is doing it,
and PAY THEM a fee that makes it worthwhile for them to
share the REAL tested-and-proven results with you.

Isn't that how things would work in the business world
offline?

What makes the virtual InterWebs so different?!

Thoughts?

All success

    Very Good post my friend!
Only one thing not to forget is make sure that the person you pay/hire to reveal the knowledge should have a proven track record.

I know that in the offline business about any individual can claim to be an expeert and offer his service as a consultant.

No matter how good or bad the information is once you've paid for it... you paid for it.

I had the "chance" to be a witness of a few horror stories where a small business owner paid a boat load of money for advice they couldn't even implement in their business... They went out of business!

Spending money to get where you want to go is absolutely a must BUT it's all about good sense...

    Be Wise!

    Thanks Mani
