You can always use Safe-Swaps, if you are in the IM niche. Lots of people there with lists in different sizes looking for adswap partners and offering solo ads. You have to be a paid member to use their services though.

For testing ads inexpensively, solo-ads.com can be effective. Most of the subscribers seem to be in the IM niche with wide variances in experience levels. For $25 your ad goes to 3500 subscribers which can serve to validate ads to this market.

Do you mean that you would use a validated ad for promotion to your own list?

What is your measure for judging an ad as valid?

After testing a new niche, I try to optimize my solo ads for a 4% conversion. Once I have an acceptable conversion rate, then I launch major campaigns through several dozen or so ezine solo ads.

      • I really want to experiment with solo ads, but I am not in the IM Niche. How can I find solo ads for my niche in particular? (Dating advice for women)

Would really appreciate help, because this has been bugging me for a while!

What I have found to be almost indispensible in my marketing is the Directory of Ezines as mentioned earlier. (directoryofezines.com). It lists ezine publishers by niche and includes number of subscribers, demographics, prices of ads, publisher contact info, etc. There is a one-time fee of $197. In your niche it seems to me that the ezines specifically targeted to women (of which there are hundreds) would be a goldmine for you. You may even consider inquiring with the publishers for submitting your articles, as many of them have an ongoing need for fresh content. Relevant articles pull much better than ads, and it's basically free advertising.

    In using solo ads,

do you prefer linking to a squeeze page or a sales copy?

    give your viewpoints.

My preference is going with long sales copy for a nominally-priced product with high perceived value. This seems to work best in the long run although conversions for list building are significantly lower than using a squeeze page. Buyers are added to my autoresponder sequence for continuous marketing and promotions of incrementally higher priced products.

I've never even considered sending solo ads to sales pages. Some solo ad sellers will only allow free offers.

I personally always just send them to a squeeze page and then present a hiqh value, low priced product to them as a special offer after opt-in...

      Hope this helps

      Cheers,
      Coby

    Safe-swaps for sure.

I think its one of the best out there with largest variety of niches.

Also approach other product sellers in your niche. You would be suprised how many of them are OK with that..

Not really one site, but I like to approach people in my niche that I know have a good size list/buyers list (even better if I'm on it myself and see the quality in the mailings). Ask them if they offer or would consider a solo ad. Be sure to introduce yourself, your site/product, and your intentions with your mailing.

I know its not exactly what you may have been looking for, but certainly its something you can look into for quality leads.
