Driving opt-ins to offline marketing funnel

Is anyone here driving online opt-in leads to an offline marketing funnel?

I have seen people do this before, where you opt in, and get the chance to have your stuff sent in the mail rather than via email. Although a lot of people seem to have abandoned this.

Anyone here using it? Results?

I run a few affiliate offers that are run through a simple domain redirect, all entirely offline.

But the market and niche is unique to me and my location, so I cannot speak for everyone here. but it is very profitable.

It's print advertising too. I have also been looking into radio advertising... there are a few affiliate offers being run on the radio in my area and they have been for a while, so I know whoever is running them is making a profit.

It's actually a rather common marketing practice; primarily in non-IM niches. This is often discussed in the Offline Forum.

I'm not doing it currently but I did with a mailing list I ran in the past, each newsletter had a link option to "receive special snail mail content" - we had over 2000 people opting in for that by the time I sold my interest; even sent out software trials once on those little mini cds..

Yes, doing it and building it for clients.

The other, even more effective approach, is to build an online funnel and use offline direct marketing to send traffic to the site to opt-in and put them into an online sequence.
