My electricity is due to be shut off in two days, and it takes that long for money in my Paypal account to tranfer into my bank account.

If not, I need to come as close to it as possible, because once my electricity is off, I can't work. If I could make that amount by tomorrow or the next day, I will just have to live without electricity for a couple days until the money gets there. But at least I'll know it's coming.

You could also run a limited-offer WSO that highlights your plight, and offer to write a limited number of articles for around $5 or $6 per article. Make sure you include good samples on your sales page, or at least link to them.

You'd only need to write 50 articles to make $250 or so, and while you certainly don't want to offer such low rates indefinitely, this would help generate the cash that you need very quickly to keep your electricity turned on.

I'd guess that paying to be a War Room member, and then for paying a WSO, in the hope of making more than the investment is out of the question. This thread, though, effectively circumvents that.

I like Mike's earlier post about responding to article writing requests. But Candace, you're going to have to come in real cheap because there are lots of desperate Warriors.

In my opinion, you need to get an established list quickly. I noticed that you did not mention this.   I am from India and u frm US. I want to tell that in online world you need time to get projects and succeed. There are odesk.com, freelancer.com where you can give content writing services but you need portfolios and time to get project. Its not that, that you bidded and projects start pouring in.
  So try online but I think you need to look offline also.
  Anyway I see some warriors offering you work. Thats really good of them.

I have knowledge in the areas of real estate, natural health, home schooling, and issues affecting single parents. I can write articles, editorials, fiction, and pretty much any type of writing other than technical. I have never done any copywriting before, but I've always wanted to try (I think I would be very good at this). I am also a bit of a grammar junkie, and think I would do well at editing.

Please advise on the best course of action I could take. I need to decide quickly, then get focused and busy.

Here's my advice. It's not rah-rah you can do it - because I don't think wanting to generate $250 online in one day is realistic.

You are new in real estate and I can't imagine why someone would choose real estate in this economy. I sold RE for almost ten years in a big city and did very well. I left when the economy got bad and sales dipped - I wouldn't even try it in this current economy. A majority of my friends who have been in real estate for years have quit in the past three years and are waiting out the market. They've turned to work that pays for now.

You posted a similar thread about four months ago. You mentioned there, too, that you can write and were advised to write for others. You listed reasons of "only 2 hr available a day", eggs and baskets, etc - for not doing that.

Right now, the internet is unlikely to save you. You have to be proactive in setting up a business rather than reactive in looking money when you are desperate.

My suggestion is to hit up family and friends for money to get you through the crisis or visit pawn shops and start selling off things you own. If you can keep the power on - you need to take a real look at how you are spending your time. You could spend 8 hrs a day building a business writing for other (I'm not talking high paid copywriting but just good quality articles and ghost writing ebooks). You could quickly start generating some income and could keep that income coming.

By "quickly" I mean in a couple weeks - not in 24 hrs. You have the skills to charge decent rates for your writing - but it won't happen until you get started doing it.

I'm not one here who blindly suggests "writing for money" to anyone who is asking for income. In this case, you have the skills - but you have to apply them.

Please don't sit on forums all day waiting for miracles - it's not the answer.

I think the first thread is looking for a writer. I don't know what to say about thw warriors for hire. I think you have to pay a fee of $ 20 to post. We do not know if it will work.

I have a new idea for you ( warriors, please add arguments pro-contra ) : With your talent as a writer can begin writing a report,an ebook to sell on the Warrior Forum. Let's say you put a price of $10, you must have 25 customers .you have managed to raise the necessary money.

As Kay said, you need to start being proactive... not reactive. Not just with making money online, but with everything in your life. And I'm not being a jerk. I was right where you were 10 years ago.. in my twenties and everything was always due in a few days and no good plan to make it happen. To be that behind on everything and try to come up with a plan to get it done in 2 days is just not smart.

I would be going door to door mowing lawns, selling bubbles (I have bubble mixture that allows you to blow huge bubbles), or anything if I could, but my alternator is out in my car, and I have no transportation. That's why I'm online looking. I'm not afraid of physical work. I've been hauling scrap metal with a partner, but I had to front all the gas money, with the belief I would get it back and then some, but the guy took the money and ran, leaving me high and dry. Hauling scrap metal is very hard work. Lots of heavy lifting, taking things apart, etc. That's how I got in the position I'm in. Now I don't even have transportation. Online is the only place I have to turn right now. Believe me, I'm resourceful and willing to do whatever it takes.

i like that bubble machine idea. i read an article a few years ago that if anyone could ever make colored bubbles, s/he would be rich. one guy even did it while experimenting but couldn't reproduce it because he wasn't recording his mixture at the time... interesting stuff!

as far as the IM world is concerned.. starting nowhere and then earning 250 clams in one day is gonna be tough..

however,

You could maybe open an elance or freelancer account, and bid on some writing jobs.. Maybe you can undercut someone on a couble big projects and win the bid, and get paid... just enough to pay your bills, and buy some time while you work on your real business...

Writing for a whole 3.62 an article that you have to wait 3 weeks for is a terrible idea when you can write for textbroker or DemandStudios and make double that (at least) and get your money quicker.

I can't understand why anyone would recommend Fiverr to beginning writers--they don't know how to make money off the backend so it is a total waste of time.

Especially when you've got jokers coming in with a list of requirements longer than the article they want written, ugh.

Follow these directions (this should be a wso):

Go to warriors for hire and find a good cheap service like web design for say....$250 of a WP template, etc.

Go to craigslist and create an add to do webdesign for the price you found above plus $250.....say $500 and sound like you work for a professional firm but freelance for extra money....that's why you are so cheap....

Go to fiverr.com and find people that will tweet your message to their huge list.....make sure they describe the list of who they are and make sure their reviews are good. Pay them to tweet your message....find about three different ones to do this. In your message say something like this: Wow, I'm so smart, got a kick-ass website for dirt cheap from this guy (insert a bitly shortened link to your craigslist ad).

I'd be scrambling around the house and looking for some things to pop on Craigslist or on ebay with a buy it now option.

How far away is your local library? Do they have wireless access you could tap into or computers you could use?

Consider some kind of back up plan that will allow you to continue to do work even if the electricity gets turned off. I realize this won't keep the milk in the fridge cold, but you could also call the electric company and see if you can keep things going in good faith with perhaps a partial payment if for some reason you can't make your goal.

If you have not done it already, unplug everything you can. Even if it is not on.

Cancel any extra services you might have.

Also, talk to your landlord ahead of time. Let them know. I know this can be really hard to do, but if you have a good standing with them currently they may be a bit more forgiving to know ahead of time.

Really like this idea. I'm also currently in a situation where I need to make money quick (trouble is I have no money in my bank account) so as soon as I can make some money then I definitely will consider doing this. Thanks for the info.

Yes, you're absolutely right but I recommended Fiverr after she solve this difficult situation.I recommend to open a service for hire warriors(if you read my prevideous post) is not a good idea? I think it's a good way to start. I know that fiverr is not a major source of profit but there are many people who do a lot of money with it.

I'm on craigslist every day, sometimes twice a day, and I just found this one that was posted this morning:

Need assistant

While you won't make $250 in a day, you can provide services at fiverr. It allows up to a maximum of 20 gigs. On some days, I earn a gig and earn a lunch.

Do whatever work you can fnd. All these little streams of income add up.

I've been there, so I can feel your pain. At one time (over fifteen years ago) I had no job, no car and a wife and baby at home and needed cash fast. I found two restaurants within walking distance and started waiting tables sine you get paid in cash via tips. That probably will not help you in the next two days. ( But it might!)

I think you need to break your short-term money making quest into off-line and on-line. Off-line is Craigslist for odd jobs, taking books and CD's to the used book store to trade in for $$, selling your iPod or GameBoy or whatever you have that you can turn in for some cash. CraigsList is your friend here as you will get local people that can come to you and pick up whatever your selling. You must have something you can turn in to cash like DVD's, Bike Rack, electronics, Game Consoles & Games, tools, toys or whatever. You could pawn something like guns or jewelry for some quick cash though you will end up paying dearly for it in fees etc. but you do what you must.

On-line is easier but the time crunch is the problem. Most of what any of us can recommend will not pay off in 48 hours, but if you must you can swing it.

Ebay with an instant pay at end of auction or buy it now will work. (24 hour auction.) If you don't have an ATM card for your PayPal account you could find a friend that does, transfer the $$ to them and have them withdraw it via the ATM for you.

As a good writer you could whip up some PLR based on your areas of expertise and offer that for sale. Finding a client who needs Ghostwritten stuff ASAP might be an option. (Don't forget the Craigs List "Gigs" section as well for finding work.) Maybe writing beautiful descriptions of high end homes for some of your real estate contacts to use in their listings could pay off.

At the end of the day a number like $250 is *not* insurmountable. Apply some creativity and don't think you have to earn all of it in the same place. Hope that helps!

If you're going to sell some unwanted items on CL which I think is a good idea, take a look to see what jobs may be available locally or virtually - and since you mentioned being able to setup a website using wordpress, advertise your web design services and offer to setup a 3 page website for someone for $100.

I wouldn't normally advise pricing your services so low, but if you need cash ASAP, that might be a good option at this point.

Also - in regards to getting your car repaired, could you ask a friend or family member to buy you an alternator on their credit card and you'll pay them in 30 days when they get the bill (or as soon as you get your car fixed and start bringing in some money).

Seem that most of the members are very helpful, as I'm following this thread and i can feel how is your situation now Candace, bcoz I'm almost in same situation with you "desperate" just facing difference problem as compare with you. I'm not expert to advice you in Im but just to support and keep fighting. U and me know how desperate we are and use that feeling to put super effort to achieve what we are targeting. U know bcoz of that feeling i,m able to do online work for IM 3-5 hours everyday for the past 8 months beside my 8-7 daily permanent job but sad to say I'm not getting a consistent income yet...

the problem is you were not prepared for this,but i have some ideas that may help:
1-digiresults pay their affiliates instantly but i don't know how long will it take you to make a sale
2-this probably won't make you $250 a day but you can make $50 to $100 starting from tomorrow if you learn it and implement it quickly.this is how i made my 1st $$ online (1 to 6 hrs waiting time to get payment directly to your-verified paypal acc-)it is hard at the beginning but it will get easier overtime.this is about getting paid to complete offers with a small twist on how to get referrals quickly and you actually don't have to pay a dime if you don't want to.if completing offers not for you then i apologize for wasting your time i am just trying to get you to where you can make some cash today..and paypal to your bank acc money transfer it will take time,so unless you have their debit card,you won't get your money right away.so here we go

There is never a shortage of these kinds of posts on the Warrior Forum. I've seen some where people need to make a grand or two within 30 days, and I'm very encouraging when it comes to stuff like that. I firmly believe that even a newbie can make some decent money in the first month if they do the right things and work their butt off.

However, $250 in 24 hours, without already having a business online, is not something I would recommend trying. Unless someone wired money directly to your bank account, it is almost impossible to even have the money available in 24 hours, even if you were able to make it.

Other people have already suggested it, but if you're really in such a tight situation you need to be asking friends and family for help, and if that doesn't work you need to go sell some stuff at the pawn shop. Also, if you simply call up the power company and explain your situation, a lot of times they will give you an extension and let you set up a payment plan. Have you tried this at all?

Internet marketing does not give people instant cash. You have to put in some work, build a business, and then reap the rewards. Although you could easily do some article writing over the next couple days, this still doesn't get money in your hand within 24 hours. If this is really an emergency, you need to focus your efforts in places other than this forum. Come back when you're ready to start building a long term business.
