Keep in mind that of the 3 sites mentioned, they take a great deal of the profit. You might be better off selling them direct like we do at MusicWear.com.

you are right that it will not cost you much but depends on your business size. Do not think in start that it will return you as you are thinking but by advertising and providing new marketing trends, it will give you a good response and you have chances to earn more and more.

I think the clothes store is also a competitive online business Just like my Electronic product online store. You have to prepare well and open an effective market~

I've used Sell T-Shirts, Buy Custom Products in the past and been quite happy with them. I created my own designs and the best sellers were tshirts, bags and watches. They cost $15 a month but they don't take as much money from you per item as places like Cafepress and they are a blind dropship so they don't put anything about their website on the invoices... only information about your company is on the invoice.

If you do pay the $15 a month for a dropship account, just note that while you get tons of the items for far cheaper (such as half the clothing types, bags, etc), you don't get a discount on every single item in their store.

I own a promotional products company and can show you the most cost effective way to accomplish this. Do you have a business license? If not, you will need one.

Next sign up for accounts with ssactivewear.com or accinfo.com or another wholesale distributor of apparel. Pricing for t's range from .99 -2.69 each and are shipped to your printer of choice.

Next you will need a contract printing service. I use dands.biz. Printing runs .60 -1.20 per per color / location. They do have screen charges but will keep your screens on file and they can be reused for up to 3 years.( screens are roughly $24 per design) They have a 12 piece min. per design. You can mix up the sizes/ t shirt colors.

Next you can have the shirts shipped to you and distribute yourself (most profitable) until you are established and turning a profit or you can use a distribution service that would pack and ship for you labeled with your business name.

I print a lot of shirts for websites to resell. As you will find out there is no "one best option". It all depends on how much capital you have, how many designs you have and how much time you want to put into it.

Like Turpen said above, the most profitable BY FAR is to get a small stock of your best selling designs and ship them directly to your customer. Even then you might be better off if you put them on CafePress first to make sure other people will like them. You won't make as much profit at first because of their fees but you also won't have a lot of money tied up in inventory of shirts that you thought would sell.
