Video Styles for squeeze pages

What do you prefer - slideshow style videos like the ones you can make at Animoto.com, or Ryan Deiss style powerpoint videos, or stand-in-front-of-a-camera style?

The better question is of course, has anyone tested different types and gotten results? Do share

Pulling off a sale involves making emotional connections, developing trust, empathy, etc. that more easily accomplished with a human presence.
A slide show is more likely to be loaded with just the facts, at it's worst, it's possible to provide too much information and too many choices.

I don't think the video is important as the words (audio) in the video. I've seen fantastic sales videos that were done with flash text but the sales pitch is what made it fantastic. If I were creating a video I would create a killer sales letter that I could read out loud...then choose a video format that worked with it.

We haven't had great results with videos' for squeeze pages. I know a lot of people swear by them, but in some of my niches we've gotten better response with just simple text, some with no graphics and others with graphics. This is for squeeze pages. For the actual sales page, video works GREAT!!! We use powerpoint slides and it's been working fantastic the last 2 years in all the niches I'm involved in...

I prefer the "stand in front of a camera" style. It's more personal.....
Actually, I can see where a combination of styles might be effective. I'll have to test that more.

  • I've got a "in front of the camera" type sales video that I'd love to get your constructive criticism on it.

We got a freelance camera guy to help us out - we saved cash by writing the script (average), doing the editing ourselves, and shooting in a hotel rather than studio.

Link (it's in the right column under Introduction).

I've mixed feelings about it - I'd love to get any comments, positive or negative, as well as any ideas how to improve it.

  • - For squeeze page, a short talk in front of camera (shorter than 2 mins)

    - For sales page, a beefy powerpoint presentation

I've found that a combination of the two tactics above is also effective. A short intro where you introduce yourself, what you're selling and the presentation to drive it all home. The personal element can lower objections and the powerpoint pres can lay out all the facts.
