Anyone have any recommendations on what products teach you how to type quickly?
Typing in internet marketing is vital, whether it's writing emails, products, or articles. Being able to type twice as quickly would mean half the work for some things. And that means more work done and that means more money.
Thanks in advance!

If not, I have used Dragon Naturally Speaking. It is unbelievable. It literally learns and adapts to your voice and speaking style. Even if you have a foreign accent it will learn and adapt. Make sure when ordering you do a Google search for 'Dragon Naturally Speaking coupon code'. This will give you a discount off of the price.

Once you learn to type a little faster, there are some free typing tests online. Just Google "free typing test" and you should be able to get some immediately feedback on wpm. I know some of the online ones will highlight or underline your errors. This will show you where you need more work and you can check your progress regularly.

Just use the ones that don't require you to sign up for anything first before they let you use them.

Speech to text software takes a while to get used to, but it is worth it. I do type most of my stuff because I don't want to disturb the others here with me, but I use dragon whenever I can. You just have to get used to it and take the time to train it.

I use dragon 11 and with training and a good headset you can write a 400 word article very quickly. My best ever time was just 3 minutes, and that day I managed 40 articles, so yes it's good if you put into it.

Apparently, it really doesn't matter which book, method, or course you use - it always boils down to doing the boring exercises, a little bit each day, to hardwire the brain and skeleton/muscles to respond faultlessly as required. If you're motivated, not coerced, you can easily get up to the minimum standard of 45 wpm (or 13,500 alphanumeric charters per hour) with an hour or two daily over no more than 3 or 4 weeks. From there it's a cakewalk to increase speed without sacrificing accuracy to 80-90 wpm or even higher.

My only advice is to avoid massed practice at all costs!

Transcriptionist here - speed comes with time and use and little things called shortcuts, like autocorrect and stuff like that.

You can use some of the software mentioned above for learning the keyboard, but speed just comes from always typing, and typing, and typing...the more you type and the longer you type, the faster you'll get.

When I first starting working Help Desk the guys made me learn how to touch type. This is the best skill I ever learned and it has helped me immensely in IM.

        I used this:

        Free Typing Tutor

Learning how to type properly is helpful not just for writing articles but think about it... emails, skype, etc...

I've never used DNS but I would like to try it someday. I like to believe that I write better than I talk

I learned to touch type when I was at university.

I figured I was typing so much it was worth the investment... borrowed a book from the library and learned the basics. I got bored and didn't finish the book but once you have enough skill to know where you place your fingers and practise, practise, practise you and do it pretty good.
