Should I even bother selling this site on flippa?

I've sold a few niche websites on flippa with great success, but those sites where making money from adsense and affiliate sales, and were ranking at the top of Google.

I've been considering selling one of my sites (site has improved) that I've been working on for over a year now, but feel I may just be wasting my time. The site is growing at a very slow pace. Maybe I was just a little over optimistic when I started the site. I get a trickle of 2 or 3 new members signing up each day and currently only has around 600 members.

I honestly thought it would be generating some kind of revenue by now, but the adsense earnings are pathetic. Maybe I just don't know how to monetize the site.

Should I just hold on to it and continue updating it in hopes that it will become an authority site one day, or risk flipping it for a few bucks. I've put so much work into this site and really want to see it succeed.

I would really appreciate your feedback or suggestions. Thanks.

IMHO, I'd keep it then and work to get it where you want it! I'd assume that flippa wouldn't bring you much because there's not much income from the site. It sounds like you really want to make it work, so that is a great reason to keep working it and make it successful! If the market is there, you just need to test more ways to monetize it.

Maybe I'm just running out of patients. With niche websites I'm used to seeing results in a very short time, but this site just seems to be dragging it's feet.

Adsense is a pretty bad way to monetize a lot of niches... I have a few where I DO get a few bucks per click so it works for that.. but -

depending on the site niche you could consider pushing some affiliate items, maybe do some CPA marketing, maybe even make your own info product custom tailored to your site's niche.

I think you should spend a month or so increasing the value of your site and then you'll be able to sell it for a lot more.

But it could be worth selling the site, even though it has no revenue, a lot of people would be interested in a site that gets a few new members per day and has the stats to back it up.

Thanks for your feedback everyone. I was thinking of also investing in a backlink campaign for a few keywords in the niche. If I can at least rank well for a few good keywords maybe I'll feel more optimistic towards the site.
