can this simple system work?

I really don't like blogging at all nor do I wish to set one(nor outsource it).

I want to create a Opt-In page that gives away the report(not IM).

And once they Opt-in in to my list, they get content and some subtle and not so subtle promotions.

I'd rather spend my ttime and resources sending traffic to my Opt-In page.

Paid and Free methods.

I want to keep this as simple as possible without having to chase the Social Media stuff, building mini-sites and everything else out there.

Basically-send traffic to my O.I. page and promote offers via the list.

I work 60 hours a week and I want a "simple selling system".....that way I can just focus on sending traffic to my squeeze and writting my a autorepsonder emails.

Yes, of course it can work.

A simple system like this can work very effectively if you work consistently at generating targeted traffic and sending it to the squeeze page. Plenty of people have done well with squeeze pages and email marketing without having a "real website". (You have perhaps better chances than someone with a website and without a list!).

It's also true that there'll be some people whose potential business you do lose this way, because they're people who need the credibility-builder of seeing a website, not just a relationship built through subscribing to your list. People vary.

Personally, I do better with content-rich websites with an opt-in than I do with squeeze pages, but that's because of the way I'm attracting the traffic, I think. Either can work well. What you're asking about is a known, proven business method ... and if you do it consistently, and well, and know what you're doing with it, there's no reason it shouldn't be successful. The things you'll need to be good at are (i) generating targeted traffic, and (ii) writing autoresponder series to establish trust and credibility.

      HI Alexa,

thanks for the reply. It's good to know that I am headed in the right direction. I just don't have time to fool around with the other stuuf. I can give about 3 hours a day during the week(M-F) to my IM business than give about 10 hours total on Saturday and Sunday.

I figured I neeeded to keep it simple. I may get some help with the email writing but I can mange everything else.

      Thanks again for the tips.

I agree with the above post. You can make that simple method work. If you give people good emails that have value. You have to touch bases with people. The best people to have on your list are people that are waiting for your email. If you give them offer after offer they will opt out faster than they opted in.
For example I have bought some of Brad Collins software. He sends me some offers and some good free courses. The latest he has sent is his "7 day seo domination" video course. (well worth the time) and I look forward to the email.
If you want to grab peoples attention in this day and age you may have to consider some tutorials or some benificial information. Free gifts are also good.
What you put in you get out.

    Hey Johnny,

I use the same type of system for some of my sites, I also use WP blogs as well, but they are hard work sometimes. The thing is both ways seem to work for me. I am always looking for ways to improve my sites to bring in more opt-ins.

Like you said you keep it simple, I have found that sometimes simple better. If it works for you and brings in the results that all that matters, like I said it's working for me.

Your proposed system can work very well. It has the advantage of only requiring you to master the email portion.

If you want search traffic, may I suggest a compromise between a one-page squeeze site and a full-blown blog?

Create a static site with your squeeze as the home page. On the next level, create a dozen or so good, informative articles (which you hire written) all pointing back to the squeeze page. Link to the articles in the footer of the home/squeeze page.

Occasionally add another article on the third level and link it to one of the tier 2 articles.

This minimal approach will give you enough fresh content to tell the spiders that the site is both active and not a 'thin affiliate site'.

Otherwise, your best bet is to buy traffic and learn to convert it. Get that right, so you can profitably convert paid traffic, and you have as close to an automatic system as there is.

      Good luck to you...

        Thanks John,

I'll take your advice on setting up the blog. I can add at least 1 or 2 articles a week, especially if I am not doing the writing, not a bad idea.

Question: You stated learn how to convert the traffic, how does one do that? If that's too much to answer, I understand.

        Thank you for your reply.
