We've All Seen a Pricing Gold Package for $97 & Silver for $77. What About Cheap Prices $7 or $10?

Normally when it comes to a high priced product you'll see a lot of marketers that will offer different packages on the salespages.

Platinum- $97]
Gold- $77
Silver- $47

However,

What about

Platinum- $15
Gold- $10
Silver- $7

Has anyone ever done this on a cheaper product with results they can share?

I've always liked the cheap report idea but I am not sure if the same people that pay $7 for a report would just as likely pay $15. If it's the same demographic then you're selling yourself short by going for $7.

However, they could be two different demographics just like with the higher price points.

Anyone ever tried this option for cheaper products?

THanks

This is merely a clever marketing ploy to appeal to people who think they are saving money or else paying for an elite product. Sony used to do this years ago with DVD and VCR players. The insides of the machines were all standard, but the outside and presentation was set to 3 different levels and given 3 different pricing points and advertising strategies. When tested, the remote that went with the most "expensive model" worked with the "cheapest model" to give the exact same options. Interesting look into buyer phsychology.

This strategy is used alot and it does work, just a bummer when buyers wouldn't hesitate to buy at a higher price though.
