SPAM from my own domain?

Hey Warriors,

A quick question for you here. We all get SPAM. We all hate it. But there has been something troubling my inbox recently in the form of spam (perhaps 1 or maybe 2 MAX msgs per day) from my own address to the same address if you get me ie.

From: Danny (AT) dannyclare.com

What I want to know is how much trouble am I in? Will it be being sent to other addresses? Or this just some trick to make it look like it is coming from my own address? How can I stop it or track who's doing this?

Thanks
Danny Clare

The spammers are spoofing your ownb email address. Look at the expanded message header and you might get some additional clues as to the real origin. It happens to me too

After all, you're probably following a few hundred people already that aren't doing squat for you.....

You can probably ignore them. I get them every few weeks. As a Warrior already said, someone is spoofing your email so it :looks: like you are mailing yourself. If you look in the message header, you will notice that the actual address is not your address but someone elses. Right click the message in Outlook and View Source.

it is normal. because many email protocol (SMTP) servers does not verify FROM and TO fields. It means, anyone can send you an email (use an anonymous SMTP server) with any FROM and TO fields. It is unnecessary to mean someone hacked your server.

Long as you didn't send them, you have nothing to worry about.
