So I've been doing some adsense sites for a while and while not making me rich, I've been able to get most of them to $50 a month. After visiting the WF for almost a year, I decided I will try to make an Amazon affiliate site and log my progress publicly.

So here is the setup:
WP review theme
A banner and logo I bought from a warriorforum member
Domain name on GoDaddy (I like their prices)
Hosting from HostGator (where I host all my IM sites)
KW research with Market Samurai
SENuke X (bought a while back)
Scraepbox
10 keyword rich articles from ccarticles

Going for 5 keywords and a product review site for a certain toy
Going to launch July 16th, after I have at least $50 reviews. I like to take my time and research and build a good site. Early on, I had very crappy adsense sites and I didnt put in the work. I learned that there is no easy way, it takes time and work. My best adsense site ($100 a month) took almost a year of work and about $500, but now its paying off.

Let's see how this turns out!

Best of luck with that. You might look at creating a few freebie social sites, hubpage, worrdpreress.com, blogger to help steer traffic to the site, probably have to go easy with the nuking until the site has a little age.

Ya, I learned that nuking right away doesnt help. But I use it slowly to build logins. Its much faster than manually doing it.

Rank those blogger adsense sites first that you can use to push the ranks of your money sites, this way not all of your linkjuice and efforts would take long to get results

Most of my adsense sites are doing OK, I host them on the same class C IP (as of now) and don't want to raise any eyebrows at G.

First affiliate site? wasn't that exciting? The planning stage is the most critical one, any plans of using clickbank as well? Clickbank offers better commission anyway.

Well done, I made my first affiliate sale with article marketing a few years ago. I will never go back to article marketing - all of those articles written to make 1 or 2 lousy sales, what a waste of time.

I'm using an review wp theme linked to amazon. Did some good keyword research. Today I wrote two reviews, took me about 30 min each and I still dont like them, but my goal is to do 2 reviews a day before launch Aug 1 so my site has some good content. Anyone know where I could get some cheap review writers?

I just looked up on the big G "review wp themes" There are some free ones but they kind of suck. PM me for the link. I'd post it on here but I dont have enough posts.

It comes with most of the plugins but i usually add xml sitemap, seo plugin of some kind(there are a few good ones out there), I also try to make sure the site looks as legit as possible.

You may want to post your progress on a blog, either here or on your own site. We don't allow threads in the discussion sections dedicated to a single person's progress. We do encourage them in the blogs, though.

The reason, for those who might be curious, is that the various kinds of what we call "follow me" threads would take over the front page or three pretty quickly if allowed.

Nothing more to it than that.

I have been thinking about trying one. I come across this thread here: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ial-offer.html

Don't know if that is any help to you. I am not affiliated in anyway. She has some good reviews. I think if I do go down that road I am going to try her.

    Anyway good luck with it.

    Rob.

If you were successful with Adsense, there's a pretty good probability that you'll be successful with Amazon. I personally use both on my websites. While some discourage against this, it's been a win/win situation for me.

Just recently started affiliate marketing. Got my first sales last month, they were on $20 DVD so it wasn't a great deal of money, but it's the start to my freedom. I realize this has nothing to do with the original thread but he changed the subject. O yeah and I'm interested to hear how things go.

I think the reason I am successful is because I do research for a living and IM is something I do for fun, I don't need the money, but its nice to have a little extra on the side. I truly believe that to be successful the job has to be fun, it has to seem like its not a job.

I tend to agree with this in more of the terms of 'if you want to be successful online you need to enjoy it'. I think a lot of people get into internet marketing for the wrong reasons, and that's why we see such a high failure rate. If you like what you're doing then, as you said, making money is just an added bonus.
