Selling Domains (Please Advise ...)

Hey Everyone. : )

At the moment I have exactly $50 to my name and I'm thinking of raising some money to continue my Information Publishing Business by selling/flipping domains. I have a good selection of domains that I think are valuable, and I'm selling them on eBay and Sedo.com.

I'd really appreciate it if you could give me some advice (general, specific, whatever) for being successful at this venture.

Cheers.

      Thanks Sbucciarel.

I read your FlipTown report and I found it to be very informative and practical. : ) The GoDaddy domain transfer info is the kind of information I was looking for.

    Hi Jonathan,

The main thing is don't undervalue your portfolio - a short, keyword rich domain can still be extremely valuable.

As for places to sell them Ebay is still popular, SEDO I never had much luck with and Flippas fees are extortionate for a decent listing.

Maybe you could offer to JV with a Warrior who has an existing domain buyers list and offer a 60/40 or 70/30 split with them. Sorry I don't have a list like that myself but it's just a thought :-)

Funny, I find that most people tend to overvalue their portfolio.

Domain flipping is a tough game and takes a lot of patience, assuming you want to use passive selling techniques. If you use active selling methods and get aggressive with it you can cut down the time.

For example, if you have an exact match domain you can easily get it ranked in the SERPs. Then approach the companies that are bidding on your search keywords in Adwords and offer to sell them the domain. It should have real value to them as they would normally pay to be on the front page for those keywords. There are other methods, but you get the idea.

      Good luck!

All of the above is valid. However, the bottom line is:
"Your Domain is worth whatever the Buyer is willing to pay".
Not what someone else or yourself say it's worth.

Thanks Everyone. : ) How did the domain "GamesForGirls.com" sell for $500,000 or is Meharis correct and a domain is worth however much the buyer is willing to pay.

      Cheers.
