And here it is!
After 2200 hops I've made my first Clickbank Sale!
Funny thing is that it came from one of my wordpress.com blog which i don't promote (it's on 4th page in google now) ,actually i can't even edit it because I've lost my wordpress account because of affiliate links
anyway, I've earned 33$ from this sale, the product is not IM related, and have 8.14 gravity. I needed only 31 hops to make a sell, so it's pretty good

now : FEED THE WINNER! and make some more $$

cheers!

I made my first sale from a WP blog that I stopped promoting as well. It's kind of funny really. I never heard of going through 2200 leads to get a sale though, maybe the niche isn't up to par.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I see sales I've made from sites I've basically ignored. It always makes me think if I had stuck with that idea longer, I could have done better. It's a symptom of the shiny object syndrome.

I used to start something, take massive action, and then move onto something else. The thing is, the first thing worked, but I got bored and moved on too quickly.

As a result, I would log into my clickbank or CJ account to see some random sales from something I forgot about.

Anyway, congratulations, keep up the good work!

Congrats on your first sale. I had a similar experience happen to me. I used to have a weight loss blog with a Fat Loss For Idiots side banner on it. Built it, forgot about it, moved on to something else, and a few months later I had my first ClickBank sale. It's a great feeling, isn't it? And fuel to keep your motivation up and you working harder to earn the next sale. Good job. Keep at it!

Good job on your first sale.

That's a lot of hops though. I know you are promoting different products but I don't normally promote any products (unless I know it personally and know it is awesome and can presell it really well) that have such a low gravity.

If all the products you are promoting have such a low gravity that may be one of the reasons it is taking you so many hops to get a sale. There is often a reason gravity is low on a product and that is because the sales page just doesn't convert.

If the sales page doesn't convert then you need to do a hell of a job preselling and basically make up for a crap sales page.

It would be interesting to know what strategy you use when choosing a product to promote.

Anyway, congratulations again. The first one is often the most difficult.

If there's one thing i've learnt on this forum, its that low gravity doesn't mean it converts poorly. I've took advice from experienced members on here and switched from a product with 80-90 gravity, to a product with just 7 gravity because the sales page was a lot cleaner and more attractive. So far its converting nearly twice as well as the product with 80-90 gravity.

Just to add to this, low gravity could also mean that it is a new product and not a lot of people are promoting it yet. It can be an opportunity for you to be among the first ones to promote it, while competition with other affiliates is still low.

Can we promote the clickbank products on squidoo.com without making any specific site for the product and start making links to the squidoo page? This way squidoo income may also get added to the revenues???

Congrats on that sale. Too bad you don't have access to the blog anymore.
At least you know how to create another one, although I would recommend getting a host and your own domains for future campaigns.

You need tto have your traffic come in laser targeted for best results.

I'm getting 7% conversions on a lot of products, just need to drive the right traffic to it.

Is that 7% of visitors to site, or 7% of those who click through to sales page (I assume the latter)?

Also, as a benchmark, what do Warriors feel is a good (or typical) click through rate to expect, and then a good (or typical) conversion of click through

I have a site (covers a lots of different niches grouped in categories (Languages, Spirituality, Natural Health, Fitness and Weight Loss) on an self-hosted WP platform). It's about a year old, but I've only begun doing any serious off-site SEO work on in in the past couple of months.

It features only Clickbank offers, and gets about 11,000 unique visitors per month. I'm seeing click through rates on average of 24% which I'm pleased with, but conversion of 0.86% which I would prefer to be higher.

But it occurs to me that I have no idea what these metrics should be?

Congratulations. I've had cases where I needed hundreds of hops to get a sale too. A lot of these sales pages simply don't convert. But I didn't create a landing page but rather had the lead directed to the sales page. I assume a landing page would convert better.
