Help me spend my money...

Hello everyone. My name is Steve and this is my first post. I have learned so much from lurking here for a month it's amazing. This place must have some of the smartest people on the internet as members. Seriously, you folks have taught me a ton. Ok, here's the money part. I have $135 in a paypal gift certificate. I want to get into internet marketing. My "experience" consists of selling 1 item as affiliate through clickbank using ppc to a blog. Made $26 and spent $48 on ppc! In retrospect realize some mistakes. Also I have wrote a few articles on goarticles. I am willing to try and work on anything. SO, $135 plus $100 a month I could invest, for the next two weeks while my broken ankle finishes healing I can invest 6 or more hours a day. After that 2 hours a day and 6-8 total over weekends. What would you do if you this amount of money, this amount of time, a very strong desire, and very limited experience. Any help, advice or recommendations will be appreciated. Thanks for even reading this. You guys rock!

    If it were me:

    1) Save the money. $200-300 is hardly enough to break the learning curve of PPC, IMO. If you have to spend money, register some domains in your niche, or outsource some articles.

    2) Spend some time researching the niche and product you would like to promote.

    3) Setup a Blogger or WP blog on the subject. I prefer to set my blog up as a landing page / review style blog.

    4) Link a hubpages / squidoo /etc page back to the blog using similar keywords. The more the merrier.

    5) Write as many articles as you can, primarily focusing on EZA. If you have time, rewrite some slightly and submit to GoArticles.

    6) Find blogs and message boards you can comment on, linking back to your blog.

That's what I'd do. Others would differ. I have done this and repeated it several times. I have been in this game a year, and just had my best week, consisting of three $450+ days in a row.

With the right work ethic and mindset, you will do fine.

I would follow Jim's advice. I have been doing something similar and am starting to see great results. Once you have a site up and become a little more comfortable I would use some of that money to start building a list that you can market to.

    Hey Jim,
Thanks for the info. Congrats on the $450. Wow! Any opinion about WSO? There are some that sound great. I'm really looking at any avenue in marketing, site flips, articles ppc, really I'm open to anything. Thanks for all your help.

This post isn't in your best interest so I'd ignore it if I were you - yet another 'maverick money makers' newb trying to sell the program.

    sorrellman,

As others have said, unfortunately, by advertising that you are new to this game, you have probably opened yourself up to a lot of PM's and posts that may or may not be in your best interest. Most Warriors have your best interest at heart. Some DO NOT!

As for WSO's, here's my take. In my year in internet marketing I have bought NOTHING. No eBooks, WSO's, guides, traffic, PPC, domains - NOTHING. Could my business have expanded more rapidly had I took some risks by purchasing such items - sure! That being said, I am from the school of thought that in order to learn best, you have to do. This forum is a GREAT learning tool, but no matter how much you learn from it, the info WILL NOT make you money. The only thing that can make you money is your own ambition.

That being said, if I was you TODAY I would formulate a game plan and basic business plan. TOMORROW I would act on it. No exceptions. Right down everything you want to accomplish each day for the rest of the week and do it, without any excuses. You will learn far more from this than any WSO, and I gaurantee that long-term, you will get results from these efforts.

The beginning of next week, again make a schedule for yourself. If you came across some aspects of IM that you'd like to learn more about, that would be the time to purchase a WSO on the topic, or research more on the issue.

I am certainly not discouraging WSO's, as their is invaluable info. in some of them. And unfortunatley, I'm sure this post may rub some people the wrong way, and it's not my intent. I just firmly believe that you will learn the best by struggling on your own at first. Many people think that you should buy guides to make money, but you can buy the best guide in the world and without acting on it, you have nothing!

Could you offer some help to the OP without pimping out your sig?

    pitadav,

This forum is about helping each other, not trying to sell your goods via your sig. Offer some help to the OP and use the WSO forum to sell your goods (once you qualify).

If everyone posted just like you did, this forum would be total crap. Don't you agree?

Its OK to be a newb, its just not OK to turn this place into "buy my stuff please" forum.

    Hey Warriors,

Thanks so much for responding to my post. I would certainly say the do something part is the most important. So I did something. I bought a WSO. It was from Steven Wagenheim on google hot trends. Just downloaded, read and watched some very interesting stuff. Now for the do part. I am going to go work on this right now. I will keep you all updated as to my progress. I'm sure every problem has a million solutions and I picked one. Now to work at it and see what develops. Very excited to be in such good company. If anyone ever gets around Ithaca, Ny let me know. Thanks everyone. Here I go.
