What to do with 5,000 un-targetted FB friends?

So the opportunity has come to me that I can create a facebook account and generate the cap of 5,000 friends (completely un-targetted of course).

This seems like it may have potential for the price I can get it at, but I have little experience with marketing on facebook so currently feel like a lost puppy!

What I'm currently considering:

Using the account to promote facebook fan pages and try to get them to go viral (can also do gigs on fiverr to promote to people?)

Using the account to simply promote CPA offers or FB related ebooks (farmville guides etc)

Using the account to drive fans to fan pages that I'd make to build up a fan base that I can use to promote my future endeavours to (mainly technology / gaming niches).

Any other ideas of what this could be used for?

Matt

5,000 untargeted Facebook Friends has no value. You could try sending CPA and Affiliate products to the profile and you might get lucky. People don't go to Facebook to buy anything, they go to connect with their friends, news stories and hear about local events.

I am pretty sure you can make a personal page into a Fan Page now. That is what I would do with your page if you can rename it. Find a niche and rename it to that niche. You will look like a leader in your niche with a nice base of 5,000 Fans.

Did you mean As soon as you get a refund, your negative feedback disappears.Or you positive feedback disappears?

Why would you leave positive feedback and then ask for a refund?

Regarding the OP's question: There's not a whole lot of value in 5000 untargeted Facebook friends in all honesty. You could try an easy CPA offer like a zip code submit.

Obviously I know the value is extremely low, if there at all.

However, this would only be costing me $10 for a few accounts. I quite like the idea of just trying to get a few thousand fans in a niche page that I set-up even if they are untargetted just for the that leader look. I'd also be able to get a fair few 'real fans' from my niche so that the page looks active etc.

I think that's how I'll tackle it for now.

I think the system works where people sign up to get lots of friends, which is usually for games such as Mafia Wars and other things where you need X amount of friends to succeed on the FB game. I could incorporate this knowledge and try to direct them towards FB Game related products and CPA offers perhaps?

Thanks for the ideas so far.

I would get rid of the list, and spend your time doing something that is going to be worth your time.

Speaking as a facebook user, and an I.Mer, its a waste of time when you look at the payoff..

I work on google, and have never had an issue making a buck, give that a shot

At the very least, you will always have some to de-friend on National De-Friend Day.

Doing IM on FB would require a lot of work...since it is primarily a "social" networking site...people go there to socialize and NOT buy, therefor you would need to build the relationship with your 'friends' if you want them to at least pay some attention on you...this means constantly updating your profile with interesting content, make sure you get people to comment and interact....
