Twitter Mass Follow

What is the best way to mass follow twitter accounts? The catch is that I only want to do it for a specific city. I sat for a bit today and followed around 300 accounts, and so far have a 17 people that returned the favor. I would like to do this on a much larger scale, but obviously want to be careful about scams that just take your account.

    Do you guys actually make money on twitter? I have never had luck with Tweet adder.. Maybe I havent been in the correct niche... Let me know! I am interested in hearing about it, maybe time to give it another shot!

    Do you guys find any real value in getting "those" kinds of followers?

    I ask because I went down that route with one of our Twitter accounts. We got quite a few followers, but the quality of the followers is horrendous...they're like a bunch of robots. I'm going in a different direction right now with another account...engaging people, only following people I like/respect, etc.

    I love Twitter and so do many of my clients. Its great for web traffic, online branding, managing your online reputation and generating sales.
    On the sales part of it, drive people on Twitter to your Blog, Article, Video and even landing page. If you aren't converting sales its most likely the sales funnel you are trying to put them through.

    If you can get Tweetattacks. I've never used anything else so can't really compare it to anything else but I simply can't imagine any of the others being better.

    TweetAttacks free edition will let you use quite complex search strings to add people, and it has a tool to unfollow them after X days if they haven't followed back. You can also exclude people without a profile pic, etc, to weed out most of the robots.

    I have personally pretty much given up on Twitter as a direct marketing tool. Too many spammers on there. I add it for my web design clients and just set up an automatic feed so that it Tweets all their new blog posts, and they can tweet any special offers, etc. it's up to the client whether they follow people back or not.

    Some niches, technology in particular, seem to attract a better click through rate. I have found health niches very disappointing. If I invested more time in it then I'm sure I'd see an improved return but at the moment I simply can't spend time having twitter conversations. I've got too many jobs on the go!!

    Yes, that's true.... you can find more followers through the services such as Tweet adder, Twiends.......... But keep in mind over 90% (perhaps more) of people who're using these services are internet marketers/money makers. So, you'll get best results with IM related products and service.

      We've looked into these sort of automated tools for Twitter marketing and according to Twitter it isn't allowed and will certainly get your account banned.

      Automated Following and Un-Following
      Twitter users often review the profiles and recent tweets of their new followers. Being followed in a bulk, automated fashion can make this process bothersome and makes Twitter a less fun place to hang out.

      The only auto-following behavior Twitter allows is auto-follow-back (following a user after they have followed you). Automated un-following is also not permitted. If you find yourself frequently needing to un-follow large numbers of users, you might consider reviewing your criteria for following them. Please review our Follow Rules and Best Practices for a detailed discussion of following recommendations.

      Also note that in the general Twitter Rules that "get followers fast" applications and services are not allowed. Do not surrender your username and password to them.
