Auto Responder Terror, A warrior in need!

Hi Guys and Gals,

I've recently decided that creating auto responder messages for my subscribers is something I have to master in order to create a true sense of community as well as continuity.

I have literally spent the past 5 months learning how to create info products but haven't put any emphasis on writing emails to my list.

At the time being, I'm creating a sales funnel/perpetual launch that will basically take my subscribers through a 7 day video course and then start building up tension towards the launch day.

I created the 7 day autoresponder for the video course but seem to hit a wall when it comes to writing the launch copy.

I also have no idea what emails to send them on a regular basis...

If you have any gems of wisdom or any products courses that arent 197$ that you could suggest I would be ever so thankful!

Thanks in Advance

If the specific pain or frustration is causing you such a headache, outsource this task to a professional copywriter whose job (and passion) it is to get you the best conversion rate.

The initial investment will more than pay for itself.

Problem solved. Allowing you to concentrate on other tasks you enjoy doing a lot more.

It's all about making the most productive use of your time and available resources.

      Stepping stones...

Perry Marshall and Terry Dean - get on their list. Period....

These are no fly by nighters.

They talk about how to write emails that:
    -entertain
    -educate
    -make people money.

Terry Dean says it well. "Why is it that entertainers get paid more than teachers??"

So many try to educate in their emails - only. While that's good, there has to be more tan that....

Agreed. I've always focused on writing my emails using "water cooler talk"--the stuff people chat about when they're gathered together. Then I pull a tidbit from that conversation to tie into a want/need/desire/problem the prospect is experiencing, and position the product as the answer.

Think about it...if you start a conversation with "Oh, you won't believe what I saw last night...". What happens? Everyone LEANS IN to get the skinny. You started with a little intrigue and they gotta know what's next. Human condition.

You can do the same in an email. Strive to get the "lean in" and chances are you'll have their attention throughout.

What I personally did for my follow-up messages was simply sign up for other online marketers emailing lists of my similar niche and then take ideas from what they say and write accordingly. It took me about two hours for 3 messages. You can see what mine looks like if you want (Mine is based on generating 3,526 Twitter followers in 2 months and transforming my Twitter into a non-stop traffic machine.)

I'd say find a great copywriter and outsource it, then research it all after your launch. Keep in contact with the CW, ask some questions. Your email is obviously a huge part of email marketing, but like many people say on this forum, "you can have the best product in the world, but it means nothing if you don't market it well." So make sure that first email grabs your audience, don't risk losing them right off the bat if you don't know what you are doing.

The opening post didn't live up to the dramatic title you sucked me in with.

      I'm disappointed.

I always use some variation of the Frank Kern/John Carleton method.

        1. tell 'em what you have to sell (product)

        2. Tell 'em what it will do for them (benefits)

        3. tell 'em what you want them to do next. (click here and enter your buying information)

It really doesn't have to be much more complicated than that.

  • I have a few options..

    1. Create an industry specific newsletter that you write about things going on in the industry. This ideally should be at least weekly (depends on the market)

    2. Create a short emails that simply say "Hey [fname], I created a new blog post entiled ".....here", Go here to see the new blog post. (your name)" Then link them to a blog where you post an article. You can have offers in the P.S. and/or in the blog.

    3. Create a promotion only newsletter - sending affiliate offers (not recommend)

My best suggestion is to signup to as many newsletters as possible (in all industries) and see how others market.

    Hope this helps =D
