It can be useful to place an RSS feed 'subscribe' button on your homepage, that links to your websites feed, as visitors can then add that feed to their web browser, and at any time quickly view the feed to see an update of content that has been made on your website., which in itself can bring returning visitors.

thanks for your post thegotoguy. That site is great idea but a bit annoying how you have to create a feed every time you post! I found I could do it with my Wordpress site for free as a built in feature!
