I've never tried it..but my initial thoughts are it would be a little difficult with all the free porn on the internet. I'm sure the money is in the products they promote on those sites. You could create a product like 'How to Last Longer In Bed' and sell it, sell ad space, or better yet build an email list. Offer exclusive videos for joining the mailing list then you can send them your own offer as well as affiliate offers.

    Just a few thoughts.

    anyone tried marketing porno?
Well, every time I get out the camera my partner gets nervous.

Oh, you said marketing porno, not making porno. Nevermind.

I'm an ex-porn-webmaster. I ran adult sites for nearly 10 years but have finally been driven to the mainstream. We have 6 words for newbs that come to the boards looking for easy cash... 'there is no money in porn'

Yeah, the adult niche and market is dead.

There's no money to be made in it.

Did you run a pay site, or did you just do affiliate marketing?

Never owned my own paysite, but I am a designer so I have built a ton of them. I've also been an affiliate manager for a large network of paysites, ran my own webcam studios and built countless sites for myself that would push the larger paysite networks.

Basically, there is still millions to be made from the adult market, but the little guy can no longer survive. The top 3 companies have been buying up all the little programs for years.

The really crazy side of the story is that all the giant tube sites giving away the free porn are mostly backed by the largest paysite networks. This means that the top 3 companies have most of the traffic. They simply don't need affiliates anymore. The landscape has turned a bit surreal in that world.

Haha. Just noticed your signature and watched the video.
'There is no money in porn' was always a bit tongue-in-cheek of course. There is money to be had, but here's my best advice. Stay far, far, far away from generic niches like teens or lesbians. Stay far, far, far away from saturated sponsors like Brazzers or Nasty Dollars aka Reality Kings.

Find what we called micro niches like fetish stuff, spanking and if you can stomach it.. gay still converts better than anything.

One last thing.. Review Sites are the absolute best way to see sign ups roll in if you are targeting the right keywords.

Thanks for answering my questions. I think it just all comes down to conversion rates for a particular site. I try to meet their conversion rate via seo (autopilot) and then move on. Ironically I sold a brazzersvideo domain name a few months ago lol. And, you are right - my best converting sponsor is in the gay niche and it's a micro niche itself.

Review sites are something I'd like to get into but they're flooded right now. But I have not looked that hard. No pun intended, anyway thanks for the insight.

The most important thing you need to know is 18 US Code Section 2257 and its implementing regulations.

Violations are serious business with mandatory, lengthy prison terms.

Keep in mind that even if you are depicting adults, not complying with the recordkeeping and disclosure notice requirements triggers those nasty mandatory, lengthy prison terms.

      .
