INTERNET MARKETING

Hey All!

I'm going to be selling my eBooks in a "live" setting at a public event and am considering having them on a CD with some bonuses as opposed to printing them as a book.

Does anyone know a good, reliable company that can do 500-1000 of these for me? How much does a service like this usually cost?

I would check my local phone book or do a google search for CD Duplication in your area. You should get a decent price at that quantity. You also need to consider the packaging: cardboard sleeve, jewel case (slim or not), inserts, printed in color. Same with the CD face: blank, sticker, printed, in color?

Thanks guys! Yeah, the point is to have them on hand so I can sell them from a booth and people can leave with something.

There are two ways to "make" CDs - replication and duplication. Replication is a stamping process similar to the way vinyl records were made. This is the way to go with quantites over a couple hundred CDs. Duplication uses a bank of CD drives connected to one computer and duplicates small quantities of CDs.

Adam, you don't tell us what country you are in.

Here in the US, discmakers(dot)com gives great quality and service for replication and duplication. Another good one is Queen City Audio here in Cincinnati. Their website is:

Kunaki is fine for small quantities. The don't give disounts for large quantities.

It's a bit of a waste of a CD to just put an ebook on it. Lots of leftover space. But CD's are all in all cheap to produce, so if you don't mind actually putting the software on thousands of CD's, then more power to you.

If you are based in the UK then you could use Sounds Good . CD, DVD & USB Media . Audio, Video, Multimedia & Design Services

I have used in the past and they have always provided an excellent service in terms of cost, quality and delivery .

In addition, you could consider using USB drives.

You will definitely want to find a local service for a job like this so you save on the postage, etc. You'll just need to scout around and look for CD duplicators in your area and compare the prices. Also don't forget to get a few samples before you sign off on the job so you know exactly what you are getting.
