What is best to use??

I am very new to all of this and am trying to pick up as much as I can so I'm sorry if I come accross a bit thick!!

I have an email list of just over 2,500 customer that I have collected from a site that I look after. I'd like to know what software would be best to email everybody on the list in one go, telling them of offers coming up and also trying to get them to subscribe to other offers etc.

Thanks

Aweber is probably one of the most respected, most used auto-mailer here on the WF.

I use them myself, and have nothing but praise.

I agree with CoolAromas, spend the $19 bucks a month with Aweber. Hands down the best affordable autoresponder.

    Thanks for the info.

Can I simply upload my email list that I have collected or do they need to confirm each address?

Hi Matt, they'll probably need to confirm their email addresses and their consent to receive email from you at the very least. It's by no means certain that an established autoresponder company will allow you to import this list. It'll typically vary according to its format and the extent to which that proves that they're genuine opt-ins.

This kind of thing sometimes makes people curse ... but look at it in terms of being a potential customer of such an autoresponder company: you wouldn't want them allowing other customers to import lists without asking a lot of questions and taking great care, because if they did that, their deliverability rates would be no good at all.

This is a matter for you to discuss with various autoresponder companies, and see what they'll allow. Good luck. Aweber is certainly one of the very best, but possibly also one of the strictest (and of course that's a big part of the reason why they're among the very best).

When you manually import your subscribers, aweber does require them to opt in. It is a pain but aweber's due diligence is one of the reasons they have such high levels of deliverability.

Initially, you should of gathered those customers through a script which not only gathers but also would of had a feature to email them.

Sure, there are a few freewares out there such as GroupMail Free and another one that doesn't come to mind now which has no limitation on sendings before dropping your list in an Autoresponder such as Aweber or Getresponse.

I am almost 100% sure you can upload a list to aweber and send to them with out using a confirmation link. You have to check not to send confirmation link in your settings. However, I have never used them, I use IContact.

those are the best email autoresponders but if you import your
list the customers will have to double optin. So you may lose
60 or 70% of the customer list especially if they don't know
    you.

i believe with a tool like autoresponse plus, i think the software will allow
you to import the leads without email conformation. You will have to take
    look.
