Hire someone in your country to do it for you at a good cost. July 4th is a great day for special offers. Find a designer in the warrior for hire section, you might get a great savings deal today. GL

I was in the same boat as you. I can't tell you how many Wordpress sites I screwed up. Just remember that the more you do it, the faster and better you'll get.

Send me a PM and I'll send you a video that I created that should be able to help you out in setting this up...

Don't feel bad my friend. I'm in the same boat. I've made a couple of sites and ended up deleting them because I wasn't sure why they weren't getting traffic. If you find a do it by the dots program please share. Best wishes.

JUST DO IT. Don't think about it. Just do it. Start at your first page and go from there.

My first website was a free weebly site. I made it myself in an afternoon. I earned good money selling my services on that site. On my second updated site, I hired someone from the Philippines to do it for me. While they did an adequate job, there were still things that could have been done better. Now I'm working on my third site and I'm learning how to do it myself. I'm actually working on it right now. Wordpress isn't as hard as learning how to do HTML or CSS from scratch. It just takes time. Find some forums where you can ask questions and find some youtube videos and tutorials and just start. Good luck.

Look through wordpress tutorials on youtube and JUST DO IT. The more you fiddle about with it, the easier it gets. I went from not having a clue, to being able to set up a niche website in about 20 mins. (Obviously without much content)

I know how you feel! Sometimes it takes a while to get started, but thats only because we tend to think too much about it rather than actually doing it. Sit down in your best chair one afternoon, get yourself in a quite environment and fire away! Stay focused until you complete the task, your first time it shouldnt take more than 8 hours of solid work.

Once you have done it a couple of times, it will be so easy that you will be able to build multiple websites each day.

If you need any technical help feel free to let me know,

      All the best!

How far have you got with making a website?

If you have hosting, bought a domain name, pointed that domain at your hosting (via the DNS settings), and you have installed wordpress through fantastico then you are half way there.

Next thing is to find a theme. If you go with elegant themes (paid but very reasonable) they have an excelent support forum so when you want to change something post it in their forum and they will tell you how. If you go for a free theme then you can post in this forum. You'll start to make a lot of progress and learn the skills pretty quick.

If you have any further questions, you can send me a PM

    Best

If you were doing this for 3 months & still unable to setup a Wordpress blog then surely you need to focus, just say to yourself, you have to do it, search & go through some awesome youtube video tutorials & just do it. It will not take more than 20-40 minutes & yes the more you do it, the better you will get at it.

    Just my thoughts.

This is true, however setting up wordpress is REALLY nothing special, by a long-shot.

If he has CPanel/Fantastico hosting, he can do this literally with one simple mouse click. I wonder what he did the past three months ...

Alternatively, he could have also done some "test runs" on wordpress.org (where you can make a blog hosted by THEM)...and to be honest, can it get any simpler?

I mean..you sign up, log in..start writing your first post..play around with themes and the options etc...what's the big deal?

  • what have you been doing for 3 months? creating a wp blog is a five minute process if your host has fantastico or whatever installed.

if not, then you can download the script from wordpress.org and unzip it and upload it to your server via ftp and go to the install page and it is installed in about 2 minutes.

If you don't understand any of that, then creating a website using WP is not what you need to be doing right now. you need to be learning how to get hosting, domain name, etc. How to use ftp, zip, text editor, etc.

Those are all basics of how to have and use and setup any website.

    luck,

WordPress has a huge learning curve, especially if you haven't created websites before. I was fortunate to have the knowledge and experience in HTML and web design before I discovered WordPress, so it wasn't too long before I became familiar with it. Just keep tinkering and working on it. You might encounter mistakes every now and then but with time, creating WordPress sites will be a breeze.

The simplest way of creating a Wordpress site is to use Fantastico.
You can access it in your cPanel with any hosting. It's literally point->click->website.

If your not technical it's probably best to pay someone $20 to do it for you so you can focus on the important things like sales and marketing.

I've been here nearly 3 years and I do, too.

Fortunately for you and me, it doesn't matter, because there are so many other ways of making websites (many of which are much easier). The good news is that, contrary to the impression given in some threads, it's not actually necessary to use Wordpress at all to make a full-time living in internet marketing.

Having done that on a few occasions, I think that's a really bad way, myself: you don't learn much, if you do that.

I think using something different from Wordpress instead and learning how to use Wordpress itself are both better options than that.

I'm curious about the other ways of making websites that are easier. Can you share? I've recently begun using Wordpress, and while I like it (for the most part), it does confound me here and there and I'm always up for hearing about easier solutions. I like to keep things simple and focus on my strengths (which ain't the tech stuff, sigh.)

I've found both TypePad and Weebly's site-builder far easier (i.e. I can cope with those but not with Wordpress).

TypePad is the world's "third blogging system" (after Wordpress and Blogger), and is good enough for many major international corporations, government departments and broadcasters to use as their blogging software. The basic idea is that it's as easy to use as Blogger, with the flexibility and facilities of Wordpress (both are a slight exaggeration). It's very good, but it's not cheap, by comparison with normal blogging/hosting costs, and it can be hosted only at TypePad, which is owned by SixApart - but there's another version of it available called Moveable Type, which is self-hosted like Wordpress software.

Weebly - with its built-in site/blog-builder - is rather a good and underrated host, in my opinion (but you have to pay for the upgrade to remove their advertising button from the pages of the free version, and to be allowed 10 sites rather than the 2 free ones they let people use as their "promotional loss-leader").

All of the above posters are giving great advice.

Focusing was one of my biggest problems - I wanted to find the quicker easier way but it IS NOT THERE
    1. Pick your product
    2. Research the product
    3. Find a Domain Name
    4. Get a good webhoster with Fantastico to make it easy to make a wordpress site
    5. Create a squeezepage (also called opt-in page) offering the customer a free product
    6. Get a good autoresponder
    7. Create your sales page
    8. Use paypal for your payments until you need something better
    9. Send more autoresponde messages

Then you are on your way

I personally use simpe web pages for my squeeze page and sales page and use wordpress for my blog

Sounds like allot, but it CAN BE DONE

    FOCUS

    Best of Luck

It`s actually easy to install a self hosted wordpress site if follow these simple steps:

    manual installation:

    1. Download the latest worpress file (3.2) from wordpress.org and unzip it
    2. upload all files inside the wordpress folder into the root folder of your website using a FTP client. Filezilla is a very good free FTP client.
    3. once uploaded, open the file wp-config-sample.php and enter you Mysql db login details, then save and close. After that, rename wp-config-sample.phpto wp-config.php
    4. type your web address into your browser`s address bar by adding /wp-admin/install.php at the end (for example http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/install.php) and follow the instructions.
    5. done

    automatic installation (my favorite) :

    1. If you have a hosting account at hostgator (or any other leading hosting company), then simply click on the icon "fantastico" (located in the dashboard).
    2. Once on the next page, choose wordpress on the left hand side bar
    3. Now enter your details and click "finish"
    4. installation done

    Hope it helps

If you have cpanel hosting, you just click on Fantastico in your cpanel and then click on Wordpress and install it. Takes a couple of minutes at most. Nothing difficult about it really. There are a lot of tutorials at wordpress.org for operating one.

This kind of thing can stop you from doing anything to make money. Just do it. If you fail, delete it. It's not hard to learn, but you have to be willing to learn and then to just do it.
