Do Jewelry blogs make any money???

Or maybe I should say "Do jewelry blogs make GOOD money?" :p

Now, i know "good" money is all relative but i mean £2000 Per Month or more.

Reason i'm asking is because i've found some affiliate programs that pay upto 15% in some cases which is great compared to 4 - 5% on amazon.

I would like to try this niche but my concern is that people are losing their jobs everywhere and maybe theres not much money being spent on luxury items like diamond rings for example.

Am i right for thinking this or are you doing well in this niche?

What do you think?

It is very possible that I am in the minority here, but it would seem that the nature of the item generally means your going to go into a store to buy it. I know I certainly wouldn't spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on an item that I can't see or feel first.

Now those who know what they are looking for might buy online to get the best price, which makes me think I'm in the minority with my thinking. Regardless the only way to really find out is to jump in and see what happens.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

yeah, it works. Its extremely competitive though so you better be prepared and aware on this market, so dont rely on seo at the beginning. Brand is everything with this. Conversion is obviously very low but the commission is worth it. Its like failing to sell to 1000 people...then suddenly getting 1 sale.....which makes $20-$50 commissions from your normal affiliate product look worthless with even with a rare 10% conversion from the same traffic

Test it. Check competition to see if you could get ranked on page 1 and run a test campaign.

It's weird that sometimes you can get some really great constructive answers here on WF and other times not. must be the time of day of something.

Are u looking at adsense as your source of income? Cuz in terms of "blogs" only other source of income I see is affiliate products....or your own stuff....so be a bit more specifici.

Have you factored in the prices of metals today? Silver, Gold and Platinum are off the chain.....and that filters down to the retail price of jewelry.

There are dozens of niches with in the Jewelry Industry.......try being someone to everyone and better have deep pockets. What's your demographic?

Find it and do some basic market research...find out who is running adwords...how much they are paying.....the average search volume etc.

Consider laser targeted media buys in specific other blogs that you can contact direct minus a CPA network.

Most important....realize jewelry is NOT a niche...it's a market. Narrow it down a bit....keep in mind as the price of gold and silver rises.....so shall traditional jewelry......which means there is opportunity in other areas like custom bead making and other related sub niches that are trendy.

Keep in mind the industry standard used by pawnshops is Kitco - Gold Precious Metals - Buy Gold Sell Gold, Silver, Platinum - Charts, Graphs, Prices, Quotes, Gold Stocks, Mining Stocks, bullion dealers in terms of up to the minute prices on metals.....and if you make your own jewelry......definitely set up a you tube channel and do some how to videos assuming there is a market.

I know for a fact a chick who makes 500 a weekend selling blinking lights at raves and clubs....and probably scores a lot of Xtasy in the process....but true enough.....anything that blings, glows etc....is a niche the has stood the test of time.

      Good luck.

        Hi Vegas Vince!

I really appreciate that you took the time to give me a in depth reply.

Well nothings concrete yet but i was thinking about setting up niche websites selling jewelry products as an affiliate at first using SEO.

I'll take your advice and try to narrow things down a bit because jewelry is a "market" like you said so i'll be more specific in what i decide to promote.

        Thanks Again.

you should have loyal visitors....several years ago before I knew IM I had a moderately high trafficked non-English blog about Gothic subculture related, and tried to sell some hand-made Gothic accesories for fun. It worked and according to me, the money is definitely "not bad for newbie" IIRC there are some Gothic online stores that's famous within the subculture's circle and I don't know how much money they made...but looks like it's good money.

Even within the Goth stores there are several "sub-niche" accesories store again : steampunk, faeries, medieval, romantic goth, victorian, cyber, etc.

But they have something in common : build their brand first and specified it within the sub-niche. well this is just a tiny example of accesories (jewelry included) niche.

    Good luck

Hard work will get money in any kind. You said 15%. It is huge. You have to rank top three in google.

Do you mind sharing the affiliate programs names?

Oh, now that's just being lazy.

Nearly every jewelry site will have a page somewhere that tells you which company they use. They *want* you to sign up.

Is this happening for you or just speculation?

It seems nobody here does affiliate jewelry selling and decent answers are almost non existant.

I suppose what i'm really asking is.. do jewelry blogs (that don't have a built in store or feed) make any money.

I ask this because the feeds i've tried in the past were bug ridden and showed the wrong price, description or image. Obviously this looks unprofessional and will lose me sales.

i guess i'll have find out for myself.

          Thanks for replying.

We sell rings on the net and the market is getting tough as people buy but takes time to pay. On ebay it is a market doing very well so try affiliate blogs with them. As we buy and resell I have on the odd occasion searched for a type of ring and purchased it via a blog I knew was not ebay and well aware the ring was sold on ebay.

Try amazon but not sure how they do. There is a guy selling fanpage shop maker for ebay and amazon in WSO section. I have seen rings from 1$ to $6000 + on amazon and not sure the comm but @ 3% that is good money

As for people wanting to see and feel a ring for some yes but we do a lot of rings and nobody feels them as our presentation is good and we have happy customers

Try go into sub-niche of sub-niche or maybe of sub=niche.
Maybe Angry Bird Charm or Nadal's necklace sell well.
Who knows? Just my opinion. Maybe you can come out with a blog with that.
But, make your own jewelry is more interesting than aff.
