Hi Pradeep.

I agree. But there are a few things you can do to make things easier for yourself when starting out.

When it comes to traffic for example, it requires much more patience if you get your traffic from SEO, than if you get it from article- and forum marketing.

So when starting out, I think it's a much better strategy to use methods, that generate rather quick results (visitors, opt-ins, sales) so that progress can be measured on a daily basis instead of taking weeks or months.

Internet marketing has a huge potential, perhaps it is the only field in which you can start with absolutely no money. the only thing is never give up, take action and continuously keep gaining knowledge, diversify your income sources.

Cool post! Yeah definitely takes time to build things up.

Also think it is quite good doing other tasks such as freelancing, selling PLR, product creation etc that can result in more immediate money coming in along the way to reduce the level of urgency for instant profits.

I find that helps me remain more positive that I have consistent money coming in so I can take my time more with the other aspects such as SEO that might take longer before decent profitability is seen from them.

Good post. Patience is definitely important, but I would also put forward that if you are patiently doing the wrong thing, you won't be successful.

Be patient and work hard, but know when to quit and move onto something else. I'm not saying you should move onto something else every week, but don't let pride get in the way. Most of us fail in our first ventures.

Of course, it takes patience to move onto something else and start from scratch, too.

Nice to read an "every man" success story on the long haul approach. The "how I made X thousand dollars in 90 days" are more common stories that get posted, but I suspect this is the truth for the majority who persevere and don't give up. I came in with a long-range plan in mind (even if the specifics were pretty vague initially) and content to hold out for the long term as I keep at it every day.

That's carried me through a major set back early on and also keeps the interest and motivation strong even as I'm not yet making anything from the site itself (just outsourcing, which I never thought of going in, but have come to appreciate very quickly).

  I find this to be the hardest part in IM. I know how to build websites, and to monetize them, but that's pretty basic. Driving traffic is harder and waiting for traffic to come via SEO is by far the hardest thing.
  
  I find myself checking in on analytics 4 times a day, even though I know my sites are just 3 weeks old and shouldn't be getting organic traffic yet.
  
  It's depressing checking analytics to see 0 or 1 unique visitor every day. My site got indexed three days ago...but still.
