AWeber problem nearly resolved

Hi guys, earlier I posted a thread about my lists being deleted in AWeber.
I though AWeber had deleted my lists of 2k and left me with 50 subscribers.

I was wrong. It was my employee.

I hired a sewn designer to make me a squeeze page and optin form etc, so she had my AWeber details.

We agreed on $50 and after I payed her she wanted $30 bonus for her work, I did not agree, it got ugly and we ended up with a stupid argument.

I'd forgot to change my password and unfortunately, she must deleted most of my list. I cannot contact AWeber due to independence day , happy independence day by the way!

My question is, I don't have a backup, will AWeber have one if I explain to them what has happened?

So basically I'm just letting you guys know to watch out, and be careful who you hire.

This women a philipino by the way, I do admit part of it is down to me, I didn't pay her the bonus, however I didn't promise her it either

Thanks guys!
Just thought I'd let you know

They should have backup and should be able to retrieve your data, may be on some additional fee

          Hi Kashi,

Glad you may be getting a bit closer.

What Les (lgibbon) means is a mod closed the thread earlier because that person thought the thread was breaching a rule, which in hindsight it was - The #1 rule - That if you have a problem with someone, take it up with them.

I know that's hard as it's party time over there but at the end of the day that previous thread could have put people wrongly off Aweber when they're not actually at fault at all.

That's just my opinion for what it's worth as to why the last thread was closed and you tend to find if one gets closed, follow ups will too.

I'm afraid what Les was offering was just good old friendly advice.

I know you're new here and I'm not having a crack, just explaining. Glad you may have it almost sorted.

Hey Rich, I did not mean it in that way, I seriously didn't know why it was closed, atleast I do now.. I know he was just trying to help me... thats why I asked if there was a problem. @Les, Thanks

Anyway, Would you know what they'd charge for the backup?
I can't obviously get it now, probably on wednesday.

            Thanks

You better pray hard because I remember that if you delete more than a certain number of subscribers, they might not have backed it up... (from prior experience)

It's a good idea to always back up your subscriber list from time to time!

I hope Aweber had backed up your data.

Don't regret. As they say, if it's good, it's wonderful. If it's bad, it's experience.

    Got to be careful!

What if she'd tried to send some kind of obscene broadcast email to your subscribers, too? Not only could she have tarnished your reputation among your subscribers, she could very well have jeopardised your whole account ... perhaps even got you into hot water, legally. Who knows?

If you absolutely had to have her integrate the opt-in form HTML into the design on your behalf, then you could've simply logged in to your Aweber account yourself, generated the HTML and provided her with it. She'd have known what to do with it without requiring access to your account. Granting her access sort of strikes me a little bit as "the lazy man's way" - not to mention somewhat negligent.

Good luck getting your list restored without incurring any charges, and try to be a little more careful in future.

First... I locked the earlier thread. There was nothing wrong with it as it stood. I closed it because Kashi had an answer and it seemed better to ward off any of the usual arguments about ESPs. Nothing more than that.

Second... There is no way in Hades I'd ever voluntarily give anyone the password to an email sending account like that unless I'd known them for years and years. It simply would not happen.

I recommend being extremely careful about who you give that kind of access. Take whatever chances you like with your own data, but treat other people's info with a higher level of security.

    Hey guys!

This matter has seriously given me a heart attack!
But I'm so glad it's sorted.

    Here's what happened:

I logged in to my AWeber account just now, and went to manage lists,
Guess what?! All my lists were there but de activated, all I did is deactivate them and boom!

    I'm back on
However, my subscribers are not there at the moment, maybe needs a little time to settle in.

I'm so glad it's all ok.

Thanks guys for supporting me, I've learnt a valuable lesson today, never give out your password.

Don't trust people you don't know and always back up all data.

    Ciao!

Hi Paul. Thanks for the comment,

      Your right!
I never should have given my password, however I've been on IM for a year and trusted my employees, this women worked with me for 8 months and now she did this, I've also been emailing her and not one reply.

This teaches me a lesson not to give out any info.
      What a scary day!

Anyway, I'm glad it's all sorted and I'm back in business

      Thanks
