Research! You need to take a look at the different ways to make $ online and figure out which one you want to try. You will need to at the very least understand some of the basic terms used and the different processes involved in making $ online. The term to look up is "internet marketing". From there, literally, the sky is the limit. Don't expect anything to happen overnight though. Remember if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

Oh and you will NOT get rich quick. The only way for that to happen is to win the lottery or get lucky in Vegas.

Read the forum, continue to do so daily.
It is tempting to buy something here that will help earn money fast, but try to be patient and find out as much information as possible before you take on your new endeavor.

How do you make money online?

You give massive amounts of value.

You build a small but loyal following.

You create a product that people want. You offer your product and add more value.

You spend time learning. You spend time reading.

You learn how to write great sales copy and you join a few lists.

You listen to opinions but you make up your own mind as to who's who, as to who knows what they're talking about, and as to who's blowing smoke.

Then you weed out the morons, poseurs, BS merchants, and hype-artists (and there are several, both in the wider world, and on this forum), and you test things.

What you do NOT do is quit, and you do NOT hitch your wagon to every shiny object and next "must have" course or script.

There is no magic "make cash in a jiffy" button and anyone that tries to sell you anything like this is full of crap.

P.S. And don't let other people push you around. Generally, the IM crowd is a group of helpful, like-minded souls. But there are a few prima donnas and a few people who are outright bullies. Ignore them, avoid them, and slowly, they'll fade away.

I think most of us here started as affiliate marketers, and mostly as bloggers. That combination is still one of the quickest and easiest ways to get started.

Take a few days to browse around here. Learn the terminology. You need to learn the fundamental concepts and options available before you rush off in haste ill-prepared and ill-equipped. Mind you though, this only take a few days, a week, ten days, or so at absolute most. You don't need to master every last detail, just enough to get you moving in the right direction. "Nothing happens until somebody moves!"

Mindset and believing in yourself and your plans are incredibly important in this business. And that's where these forums are going to help you the most! Some of us have "been there, done that" and most of us are currently somewhere in the process.

Don't get hung up on shiny new objects! Frankly, tactics aren't going to help you at all if you're not thinking things through and adapting what you need, when you need it. Many of them simply aren't appropriate or necessary for everyone or every niche; others are.

My advice is to find a niche you're genuinely passionate about - as in something you can talk about for hours with friends over a cup of coffee, and do it day after day, week after week. That's when you KNOW you've got a winner! Then it's simply a matter of doing the keyword research to pre-determine how well it's likely to monetize. (Major clue: time and effort spent here will be handsomely rewarded later in pure pleasure as well as financial gain.)
