MAN!!! I am having some serious problems with these keyword research tools...Am I missing something?

I have been using google adwords tool, but it seems so inaccurate. I looked at about 75 keywords that showed low competition. I then went to google and searched the term in quotes. Most of the results were in the 100,000's A few were in the millions. ONe keyword had over 6,000,000 search results in quotes, yet the keyword tool showed low competion.

Also, there are huge differences in the search totals for google and wordtracker.

How do you cope with this? Am I missing something?

The competition shown in the adwords tool is only showing the advertising competition-only the people using adwords. As far as wordtracker, it is showing daily numbers instead of monthly, and it pulls it's data from different sources than google.

I don't believe that any tool is a hundred percent accurate, but if you use a specific tool enough you develop a "feel" for it. I personally like the tool at SEObook, it shows google and wordtracker, amongst others, and shows them all as daily numbers. Hope that helps,

    Regards,

I search for the keywords using "allintitle" -- I find that you get a better idea of which keywords are worth targeting that way, rather than using quotes.

    No tool is perfect. :-)

Only thing i can tell you is search for it in quote marks, like "London acupuncture clinics" to see more accurate results.
