A critique of my request for mentorship.
Hey all, bellow is the latest draft of a letter I am using to hook up with a mentor.
It would be helpful to get some insight from a knowledgeable community like you.
So fire away, but please make an effort to be constructive, I'm a little nervous.
Hi, my name is Brian Brainerd. You are probably wondering why I'm contacting you. The full answer is a little too long for this communication, but the cliff notes are:
*I am a public school employee who wants to be an Internet marketer.
*For the past 3 years this dream has been just that a dream.
*I am looking for a successful Internet Marketer to emulate and act as a mentor.
I am not a completely new to the field. While I haven't done anything substantial, I have been studying the field for some time. You wouldn't have to teach me the jargon, I'm just looking for someone that can help me see the day to day operations of your business and ask questions of when I'm stuck.
Hopefully you will be someone here in Portland OR so we could meet in person sometimes, but I would just be really happy if you were someone who wanted to help. I am willing to do intern tasks in exchange for help so that I wouldn't be a burden on your time.
I have a plan right now I am working hard at executing, but I am running into road-blocks and distractions. I understand that this will take real effort and a chunk of time on my part and want to reassure you that your time wouldn't be wasted helping me.
