I set up my new wp site a week ago. I have written just a couple of articles which I posted on the site "winning ways" one of them I submitted to "stumbleupon" - within 1 hour of submitting, I had over 170 visitors. I am not entirely sure why, but I suspect it was more to do with the title of the article. Black jack and alchohol a winning combination?. I have submitted here before but never had such a big response in a short time frame. This just goes to show that as well as writing good content, a killer title is key.

Killer headline/title is key in article marketing I agree, if the title is not that good then don't expect for the readers to read the body.

I am relying on good content and ppc and so far it is driving good amounts of traffic, having all in one seo plugin really makes a difference as well.

To drive traffic to my blog , I use multiple sources.

Some of them are :

1. Article Marketing .

2. RSS Syndication ;

3. Forum Marketing ;

4. Free Reports ;

5. Social media ;

6. Book Marketing .

These are few of what I use .

I just started using a site called entrecard.com.

It's basically a blog database where you can post advertisements for your blog on a widget placed on other peoples blogs.

I've seen a significant rise in traffic to my blog since I joined and it's been a great way for me to find other blogs of interest that I comment on frequently, which also brings more traffic.

My primary promotion technique is video blogging on youtube. Over the past year and 8 months I have posted 315 videos for a totl of around 3 million views. The videos are viewed an average of 10,000 - 15,000 views daily.

That is incredible! What kind of conversions are you getting? Are you selling your own product? I would think that in a decent niche, adsense alone could bring you thousands of dollars each month alone.

I do affiliate programs, such as ebay and amazon. I thought about creating a DVD from my videos and selling it, but not sure yet.

One of my main sites is a forum that gets over 2.4 million page views montly and over 10,000 members. I sell a premium membership on the forum and a merchants account for resellers.

I do ok, nothing to brag about.

If you're just starting a new blog, one good trick is to look for an expired domain fitting your niche that already has some existing traffic, and sometimes even pagerank or listings in DMOZ or the Yahoo directory. It can make for a good head start.

Guys,

I think the best way to generate good traffic on your blog is the simplest way.
Create a blog that has the right content, the right information, the right links. also don't forget to link it with other popular website (this is a must, even if you have to pay for it.) But only link it to the sites which are related to your blog posts. For e.g., link a site about medicines to the health and fitness blogs. Otherwise it will be of no use.

Also, regular updates of the content and graphics are also required.
