The customer's trust in you far outweighs the sales page. If the customers trust your recommendations enough, you can bypass the sales page altogether, send people directly to the payment page and still make sales. If they don't, they won't even get as far as seeing the sales page anyway.

With no doubt, trust of customer. But, It doesn't mean that sales page isn't important since creative sales page helps to evoking positive feeling in reader's head about both "merchant" and "product". This is important when you're dealing with non familiar customers.

Other people's conversion rates, per se, are not relevant to you, because you don't know what they're selling, how they're measuring conversions, what their traffic sources are, how well targeted their traffic is, what their pre-selling systems are, whether they're marketing sensibly or screwing up all over the place, and a dozen other criteria which would potentially give their figures meaning, context and relevance.

It doesn't help you to know that 4% or 6% or 8% of people on one of my lists bought a specific product in response to a single specific email, because you don't know who the people are, how they came to be on my list in the first place, what they'd bought before, what sort of relationship I'd built with them, what the product was, how much it costs, how I promoted it to them, and a dozen other things.

The reason I'm not giving a list of figures in answer to your OP isn't because I'm naturally cagey or secretive: it's simply that it wouldn't mean or signify anything to anyone else.

I got a one off 100% conversion of clicks to sales earlier this year. Not sure what the open rate was and it was only 1 click... 1 sale but they all make you feel good.

With the Warrior Special Offer forum I've been getting conversions are 1 in 20 hops on average but I don't hammer this particular list with offers.
