Article marketing for a blog?

INTERNET MARKETING

I've got a blog with a ton of content. I was thinking about submitting older posts to article directories. Alternatively, I could write new articles to submit.

How do you use article marketing to drive traffic to a blog?

Suggest you to write new article with some link in them for your blog.
Submitting old post might hurt your account, as they are already crawled by search engines.

Hi Arief,

This is incorrect.

It's fine for you to submit your blog posts to article
directories. You may need to explain to them that
the blog belongs to you and the article is yours
before they let you do it though.

Being crawled doesn't mean it can't be submitted.

Just be aware of the potential duplicate content issue - major article directories like Ezine Articles are particularly picky about unique content, and while different versions of the same content can get you search engine rankings for a while, pretty soon most of them will sink into the "additional results" doldrums. One potential solution would using a service like Unique Article Wizard to create different versions for submission. I've used it myself and had some good results.

  If you're going to use article marketing to drive traffic to a blog, here is
  what you do.
  
  1. First, you have to look at the theme of your blog. What niche, what
  products, if any.
  
  2. Second, you have to come up with articles related to that theme and
  niche. If the article isn't related, when they get to the blog, they won't feel
  like they have landed at the right place and will leave.
  
  3. If you want to quickly monetize these articles, the best way is to direct
  them to a page of your blog that has a review of a product or service. It
  should be an affiliate product in order for it to be an objective review. You
  can't objectively review your own products.
  
  4. If it is going to be your own product, then send them to another
  article related to the subject that also relates to your product and then
  in the resource box, make your pitch for your product.
  
  5. Make sure the blog itself is more informational than sales oriented. You
  don't want people thinking you're just pitching to them all the time.
  
  6. Make sure you have opt ins for a free report or newsletter. Build your
  list. I can't stress how important this is.

  write a quality to the point article and submit it to top articles directory to more the better as with getting quality traffic you will also be gaining much needed backlinks too.

There is a new term I've seen lately.

It is "Repurposing". Defined " To use or convert for use in another format or product: example - repurposed the book as a compact disk.

What you would be doing is to repurpose your blog posts. Personally, I would rework the posts before submitting to the directories. That does not take long and you would avoid any questions or search engine conflicts.
