OMG - I feel guilty!!

I have been so busy writing for clients and with the holidays that I have neglected my blogs. (I have 12.)

So I broke down and outsourced my blog writing. (Not for all, but for about 6 of them.)

O. M. G.

Now I know why people hire writers to do their writing.

Now, I love to write, but it was so much easier to use someone else's writing (PLR) than to spend forever writing posts for all of my blogs myself.

Not only that, but I got some fresh perspective on a few things from the PLR I used.

In one hour (and not a lot of money), I got a month's worth of blog content for my blogs and used my DNS to rewrite it and add my personal touch to it. Loaded it up and got the blogs on auto-pilot for the next 30 days.

It would have taken me hours and hours to do that by myself!!! I saved myself about 20-30 hours of work by doing this. (6 blogs - 30 days of content - about 10 posts each.)

Now here is my problem:

I feel guilty.

I am a writer! I love to write!

So I love to write my own stuff, and I don't want to stop writing for clients, but I can't do both!!

Any other writers help me out? Is this something you do?

Am I a bad girl???

Are my priorities wrong?

Ack!!!

    Hi Shay,

Yep, that's normal. Don't worry about it,
just part of the business =D

Since you used DNS, you've also placed
some effort into your content so you
shouldn't be too harsh on yourself.

You're basically working smarter by using
the tools that you already have in your
disposal, no harm in making that work to
    your advantage.

    Take care!

Great news Shay! Could you tell me what your "DNS" is? Is that some sort of article spinning software?

      Hi JohnK,

      DNS = Dragon Naturally Speaking.

It's a software that types out what you're
      saying.

DNS stands for Dragon Naturally Speaking (speech recognition software).

I read the PLR content out loud and added my own ideas and used that for the posts.

I would use my Thanks button, but it is gone.

Thank you everyone. I feel better. I guess I just feel like I need to "do it all myself."

But using the PLR for my blogs has really freed up some time for me.

Don't feel guilty Shay, outsourcing is great!!! And you know ALL the big timers outsource. There is just simply not enough time in a day to do everything yourself even if you were good at it and wanted to. The only thing you should feel guilty about is leaving me this weekend You could at least take me with you

Some of the best programmers outsource their programming, not because they can't do it, but because they can't do it all. I think you are being smart.

Kim, I bought the DNS because I have mild arthritis - my hands kill me if I type for long periods of time.

But I found it is a huge timesaver, too.

Huh.... Why Shay? There's absolutely nothing wrong in outsourcing some of your work that would have been completely neglected if you haven't outsourced it. Now, at least your readers have something to read there. (Anything is better than a blank page. What say?)

Anyway, I also liked when somebody said that it will bring a fresh prospective to your blogs. I think it definitely will. In a way, outsourcing private blogs is like asking a reader to sit in the writer's chair. It will make you see the other side of the spectrum.

But just one advice. Don't stop putting your personal touch in your blogs as that's what makes it special.

I guess because my blogs have always been my "babies."

I also hate to admit that I can't do it all!

But if I am putting my personal touch on them, then I think the blogs will still "feel" the same.

You can outsource your blogs, your clients, your housework, whatever.

Just don't you dare outsource your Warrior posts.
