Removing myself from google analytics

I have searched high and low and tried a lot of the suggestions I got from researching google. I haven't been able to get any code to work for me to achieve this simple task. I can only conclude that I must be missing something.

Can anyone share the best way to do this... removing my visits from Google Analytics. I have a dynamic IP.

Thanks

    Molad,

Don't know if this will help I am new at most of this stuff.

In analytics you can go in to the profile settings for the site and go to filters

Exclude traffic from the IP addresses: this filter works to exclude clicks from certain sources. You can enter a single IP address, or a range of addresses

I would post a link or a screen shot but way to neeeewwww for that

Thanks for the tip! I thought I had done this, for some reason, but clearly I hadn't :p

I would just not use the account... and take of all codes from my site.
But your idea sounds better. Now I am also learning.

  • easy way is to simply remove the code from your site(s) and there can be no stats collected.

There have been claims on this forum that using Google analytics can harm your Google rankings in some cases, and that you should use alternatives.Does removing a site from Google analytics reverse the damage eventually?

Good question. That's why I came here tonight.
I spend time and money getting private IP addresses for my sites so the Panda sees them as separate, and then I go to Google Analytics and lay it all out as a group. Logic tells me that ain't good.

Any comments from the folks here?

How G analytics can harm the site ranking?
In my opinion, using more G products will benefit your site. Am I wrong?

Does Google Analytics really not work for sites that have a dynamic IP? I mean how does it not work for dynamic IPs? Anyone willing to share this?

You need to create a new filter where you can add your IP address to the exclude list.
