How many copies did you sell of your first product. Was it just one or one billion. I want to know, was it an epic fail or a triumph?? Thank you WF.

    Emily,

I think the "epic fail" or "triumph" part will be highly subjective/based on personal experience. To one person, selling 5 copies may be an "epic triumph", while to someone else, selling 5 copies may be an "epic triumph".

I certainly haven't sold nearly one billion copies of my first product...lol...however, I am quite content by it's performance.

I agree with you there, but I just went from one extreme to the other!! I would be happy with five copies.

My first "product" was a membership site.

That site now has a couple hundred members, and it now represents just one piece of my overall business.

At the beginning I started with a pretty basic setup to start with, nothing fancy, not even a "trial" offered. Just a straight offer into the membership.

I used Adwords at the start for paid traffic, and had a paying member the first day! I can still remember the feeling...

"O MY God, this is going to work!"

The actual words used were a little different, but you get the idea.

I sold around 60 of my first product in 2002. The price was $37. I made about 10 times my gross sales on the back end with a $500 affiliate commision product. Had no idea what I was doing so I did it again with my second product.

I'm actually thinking of updating and relaunching my first few products.

My first product was an MP3 Search Engine Script.

I had no idea what I was doing, but I think I pulled it off.

It took me about 4 weeks and about $600 to develop.

I made a total of 87 sales in just under 3 months (a total of $1,280 profit)

I then flipped the website for $2,000 and as far as I know it is still going strong.

    MP3venture.com

I wish I had sold it for more :p

I sold about 80 copies in the first couple of days, but I sold that product for over 10 years before rewriting and renaming it. I have no idea how many copies it sold all together, but I would guess several thousand.

My very first product was back in 2003 and I sold about 50 copies. An epic fail in my opinion. From there it took me 2 years before I decided to get back on the horse and create another product.

My second attempt and it sold well over 1,000 copies in the first few weeks.

Don't ask what happened to it, it's a long story...

That is awesome Dennis. Eighty copies in two days. I won't ask what happened Mike, but I have to admit I am curious. Thank you both for your answers!!
