Twitter Rule Clarification

I`m hearing that following and unfollowing in large numbers is against the TOS of Twitter. Is this right because I'm looking at a lot of other people on Twitter and it looks like that's what they must be doing too since they have an even number of people they're following as well as followers (even in the tens of thousands).

  • I think the rule is more geared towards users who mass follow/unfollow on a constant basis. Like I follow 1000 new people a day. If 500 don't follow me back I unfollow them and then follow another 1000 the next day. I keep doing this day in and day out. So that I'm just building up my #s by sorting through all the people who follow back rather than building a more true follower/follow relationship.

Of course it's hard to really follow anyone when you're following 10,000+ people but...

    • Hey, glad to hear that since I follow and unfollow at a slower pace than that. So how long have you been doing that method without any trouble? Also if that's not mass following/unfollowing what is?

  • I don't know why they just don't call it a day and set a concrete number. This "who knows where the line is" is stupid.
