Take action as soon as you can and make mistakes. Learn from those mistakes. Next, I'd say test and scale.

Relationships are the most important things you can focus on when just starting out. Taking action is a good one. but that should be a given. You need to worry about making a good impression and having a good reputation (on this site especially!). This will help you get ahead in the business.

Yep.. relationships are incredibly important, if you can't build a relationship with your customers or readers then everything else will be a waste of time.

Actually the original question is a bit like asking "whats the most important part of a car"

Some will say brakes, other engine and yet more steering... in truth without all the parts being there the others aren't necessary

Anyone who has ever gotten REALLY good at anything has learned how to fail really well at doing it. It's the mindset toward failure that will allow you to succeed. To fail you must try. To try you must act. Once you have failed you must learn and then try again.

Michael Jordan illustrated this point beautifully with the Nike commercial he did awhile ago:

"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

In my opinion, this is a very tough question to answer.

Not because it is hard to think of the aspects that matter, but because there are so many of them that are absolutely essential for success in the IM business.

It's like having to choose a song from your favourite band. I guess that would depend on the mood (situation) you are in, right?

Some aspects might be more important than others, depending on where you currently stand.

Overall, however, I'd say the single most important aspect is, indeed, the mindset.

        Kind Regards,
        Zannix

OP your answer is right here ^^^. I'll add, getting creative enough to innovate new ideas, so, you could dominate markets. On the other hand, you could outsource, or, hire interns to handle creative ingenuity. In corporations they call it research and development.

      In short.

This is not a numbers game. It is a relationship business.

It is about how well you connect and interact with people.

While we do use numbers to evaluate and examine the results of that interaction, those numbers are a mirror.

    Don't confuse them with reality.

Turning your head until only your profile is visible doesn't mean you only have to wash and groom that side of your face.

Out here in the real world, people can see both sides of it.

You need to be willing to put in the time and the MONEY.

Most people want to do everything for FREE... they don't want to get their own domain/hosting/paid autoresponder even though these are the bare essentials for an internet business.

They operate from an employee mindset instead of a business mindset (of revenue and expenses). That's why they fail.

    Organistation.

There is so much information out there that it can be tempting to flit from one idea to another. Most people have more than one project on the go and a mess of files and folders to wade through. And there are so many distractions online (checking emails to name just one) that it can be hard to focus your time where it is needed. You need a system to take you through one idea at a time.

I think it's going to vary from person to person.

Different types of people will find very different things "the single most important aspect to grasp". Partly because people vary in the type of thing they find easy/difficult to grasp, and for many people, the "single most important aspect to grasp" will turn out to be something that doesn't come naturally to them, to grasp.

For some people, it will perhaps be an appreciation of the fact that in a field of endeavour with such a high fail-rate, such a small long-term survival rate and such a high participant turnover rate, the consensus of advisory opinion on many specific subjects will often be a mistaken one.

It depends on WHAT You want to do in IM, since it's such a broad over-reaching field. I'd contend that the most important aspect of IM is to fully understand the various business models presented, as well as, the PROs and CONs of engaging in each.

I like Keen Creations answer. You will never know what you are getting into until you try it. Just do it and then make some mistakes which is inevitable. And then learn from it.

That is how humans learn. You just get better and better with the more mistakes you make. After learning you become a better person and make even bigger mistakes which are bigger learning opportunities.

    Knowledge.

Why? Because it will help you achieve whatever you have set out to in the most efficient manner. Internet marketing is technical. Internet marketing requires knowledge of SEO, the market, customers, products and how to combine them all into big one profitable "scheme".

With good knowledge you will have to put less action for more profitable result, because you will know how to perform the certain operation as efficiently as possible.

Get started. Learn and correct as you go. Most people are too scared of failing or making mistakes. Don't worry about. Pick a plan and get started.

After you are up and running and have seen some success, then traffic is the most important thing. It is a numbers game to an extent. I don't discount relationships, but numbers alone can make you a fortune. The fact is you can make money with lousy products, lousy copy and tons of traffic. But you can have the best products, best copy and best relationship skills, but your still only gonna convert so many. So without the eyes it doesn't matter.

Read, Study, Decide on which business model you want to pursue. Map it out. Take action and stick with that model. Don't keep buying the next best thing. Look instead to further your knowledge regarding that business model. There is not a quick and easy money solution..so don't buy into that. There are scripts, and automation tools that will faciliate the process. You have to have the right mindset, keep focused, keep learning and move forward, one step at a time. This is a great place to ask questions and get help and information. I wished I used this forum earlier, probably would have saved a lot of time, money, effort, and frustration.

Strip away all the clichés, and it's still all about an exchange of value. And that exchange takes place between people. Provide more perceived value than the other available options, and people will happily hand over their money to you.

I like this answer - it's something I have fallen victim to many times! Of course, you have to know when to cut your losses and move on, but you should take consistent (probably daily) action for a while on any new project (think a few months) before quitting.

I think it is two, for me anyway.

    1) Traffic - you can have the best product on earth, but if no one sees it, how are you gunna make any money?

    2) Copy - You are living in a sea of copy and sales pages online these days. If yours doesnt stick out, prepare to make NO MONEY! its your message that has to be portrayed in a way to make more people buy!

Just a few tips. :-) Have a great day.

    I would say,

    1) Gather the correct/effective knowledge/plan

    2) And then follow it dedicatedly.

Point 1 is really important. Choose the correct path will take to your desired destination. Choose a flawed path and it will take you places you never would like to go ( lol )
