Facebook video chat (powered by Skype)

Facebook is rolling out a video calling feature on their site that will be powered by Skype - https://www.facebook.com/videocalling

I predict that this will be one of the most powerful networking tools for Internet Marketers. Skype is amazing, but not everyone is always on it. Facebook will take it to the next level.

While everyone is sending emails to try to broker deals, those who use voice and video stand out from the crowd.

For example, if you send out a JV invite to someone via email, they may tell you yes but then blow you off. People are flaky like that - even if you're a big name. It's much more effective to get a confirmation from them via video voice chat where you can talk and see their face. It helps build stronger business relationships.

I'm excited about this new feature. What do you think?

Do you realize how long it will take a woman to get ready to answer the phone if it's video?

The above remark was totally non PC.

I like it, and I agree with you. It's big for FB, and for Skype. I'm just wondering if they'll ramp it up a bit so that it's more than one-on-one, like Google+'s Hangout feature, which can hold up to 10 at a time and lets everyone watch the same YouTube video at the same time. Can you say group coaching?

Video calling may result in those bluefart methods and definitely a good go for "porn industry". Now they have a live huge market.

There are already video call scams and viruses going around. Didn't take long at all.

Actually, this has been in the works for a while, long before G+ came out.

Yep ... but they DID speed it up to launch before Google + actually started letting some users in.

Its a good move from facebook, and it was expecting from skype owners. Because we all knows recently skype has acquired by Microsoft. If skype has involved with facebook it means now Microsoft has decide to work with facebook. Now i am sure google also have some plane in their mind. Wait and see what will come from them. Well at the end its a good move from facebook both for normal use and also for the business purposes.

      thats just my opinion.

social media is a place to get to know people and make frens, but it has become a place where people want to sell you something now a days.

kills the fun of meeting new people, wondering if they are gonna sell you something.
      I agree.
The so called marketers will render it useless in no time at all
      like they have everything else.
Being spammed by video isn't something I look forward to.

It will only be a matter of time before someone programs an auto-video dialer.

G+ does have video chat, and it's better than FB's because you can have up to 10 people on it, plus you can all watch the same YouTube video if you want to.
