How Far Ahead Do You Prepare Your Autoresponder Emails

I just finished planning and writing up a weeks worth of autoresponder emails for my list. I'm wondering, should I keep going and get as far ahead as possible? How far into the future do you guys plan your emails?

I normally do them all about a month at a time. Then at the end of each month do another months worth. But I know some people have a year or so done and just add to as needed.

If you have "evergreen" content, meaning not time sensitive or dependent upon outside timing - you can write out as far as you like.

I have several clients with a years worth of autoresponders written. Usually 3-6 emails the first week, when your prospect is MOST interested in what you have to say, and then once a week or so to keep in touch.

I know there are guys who literally send emails every day and have great success with it - but you have to have something WORTH saying in my opinion...don't turn your autoresponder into Tweets! :p

At this point, nothing really time dependent. I'm actually trying to keep at least a 5/6 ratio between just pure content/free stuff and an affiliate offer.

Let's say I plan ahead and then finish my product ahead of time and decide to work on pre-launch. Do you find that you have to rearrange/redo your emails for that time period, or do you just insert your prelaunch emails in and let it roll?

It all depends on personal preference. As long as they are relevant you should have no problem! Just keep it informative and don't just blast.

I tend to have 4-6 messages set up in the autoresponder but then I do broadcast mails after that every 2 weeks or so. I also ask people to e-mail me their concerns and questions to help me to tailor the articles and offers I'll be sending.
