Any Differrence Between PLR and NY Times Cover Story Rewriting??

I was at a PLR website and noticed the writer offering her services to rewrite other peoples PLR.

is there any difference between rewriting PLR and rewriting an article from the NY times?

I mean, if you rewrite something in your own words- isn't it yours no matter if the source is PLR or Copyrighted?

I'm tempted to say the main difference is the size of the lawyer pack

Truthfully though, it really depends on how you define "rewrite". Many people think they can just rearrange sentences/paragraphs while others think changing a couple of words is all they need to do.

That kind of "rewriting" can get you into a lot of trouble.

Yes. PLR is rarely rewritten and is just blatant copying and pasting, and is rarely written by truly professional and trained writers. And running an article through a software program does not count as a re-write. Most PLR material is low quality, because of the originating source.

Articles from the NY Times is not PLR. They have an official term for it. It is called Article syndication. It comes from professionally trained writers for the most part with years of writing experience and most times is very high quality, due to the research that goes on behind the scenes and the editing as well. Once it is passed on to some other publication like MSNBC.com or some similar source it is licensed.

Sometimes it is not re-written... but rather re-organized. Other times it is re-written, but again by professionally trained writers. Of course there is one common factor between PLR publishers and syndicated publishers. Neither knows how to use spell check.

You can trust the accuracy of syndicated content to an extent where politics, money and power blur the accuracy of printed contents.

For PLR it is difficult to trust the accuracy without doing your own research, because most times you don't even know who originally provided the facts that the article is based upon.
