Has Anyone Ever Seen This??

I've been getting a strange problem when I view images online. It does not matter which browser. I thought it was a video card problem, but it's only a problem online. So now I'm thinking my router or cable modem might = fail. Has anyone seen this happen before?

It happens on random images and when I shift-reload it may or may not clear up. I'm really just looking for thoughts/opinions on this.

    Holy cow!

... I've never seen anything like that.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you, but now I'm REALLY curious to know what the solution is.

Hopefully a computer genius pops in soon.

It's really cool looking, but also REALLY irritating. I got me a pretty good system I built here. I'm wondering if it's not some sorta data corruption with the download, thereby distorting the image. That's all I can figure. Years ago I got an associates degree in computer technology and I've been working in computers (software/hardware) ever since. Have not really seen this.

That looks like page tearing to me. Could be a sign of a lot of different problems, video card, memory, monitor, etc. The fact that it only happens online doesn't mean that it's NOT a video card or ram problem. Bad memory can cause all sorts of unexpected stuff. My most recent computer ran EVERYTHING perfectly except World of Warcraft. I struggled for over 2 years trying to figure out why EVERYTHING ever written ran fine but the single most popular piece of gaming software available.

One day by chance I ran Windows 7 upgrade advisor and it said rather nonchalantly "you got some bad ram, bro". I didn't believe it at first but swapped out my memory sticks anyway and BOOM, I was back in Azeroth with no problems.

    First things I would do:

    Reseat monitor cable (both ends)
    Try a different monitor
    Update video drivers
Reseat your video card if it is not built directly into the motherboard.

      Thanks for the suggestions.

I check my video card and then try my on-board video. It's sufficient for porn, I mean web surfing. I hope it's not RAM, I just bought it a few months ago.

My previous monitor did that stuff before it bit the dust.

My current monitor does it occasionally, but not because of the monitor. The memory in the vid card gets stressed sometimes, and the vid driver resets.

Also consider going into your Display settings and turning down the processing efficiency of your video driver.

When doing video chat, sometimes people would not be able to see me, so I turned down how much video data I was sending by 65%. That made it possible for everyone to see me on video.

I am thinking the same thing on your machine. Trying dialing down your monitor refresh rate in your settings.

By doing the latter, you are allowing your video card to process less data, and therefore, it could prevent the problem you are seeing.

If the latter helps, you would need to look at replacing your video card, or upgrading your memory or video memory.
