# #1 on google - clickbank presell page - how much does it earn?

lets say that i have a presell page promoting a clickbank product
and this page ranks #1 on a keyword with 10.000 monthly searches

i calculate the monthly revenue with this simple formula below:
monthly revenue = (monthly searches) x (google-CTR) x (presell-page-CTR) x (convertion-rate) x (commision)
google-CTR = percentage of people who click on the first result in google search.
presell-page-CTR = percentage of visitors who click on the offer you are promoting

assuming:
36% #1 result CTR,
40% presell-CTR,
0,5% conversion rate
and \$20 commision,
we have:
monthly revenue = 10.000 x 0.36 x 0,4 x 0,005 x \$20 = \$144

is this a good estimation of the revenue?

what is the typical value for presell-page-CTR?
and how much is the typical convertion rate for traffic from google?
• i would say that the fisrt place on first page of google search for your keyword brings 68% percent of people not 37% 37 percent is too much conservative

• maybe this study doesn't take into account multiple click from one user. lets say that every user clicks #1 #2 and #3 results. then this study will give 33% to #1 when in fact it is 100% because all users clicked the first result.

• 1st place on Google will bring you between 50 and 70% of the traffic for that keyword, but you'll probably receive at least 15k a month between long tail traffic and the #1 ranking. Also, I'd aim for a higher conversion rate than .5%. If you can presell it well enough and/or build a list, you should be able to up your conversion rate to at least 1-2%.

I'd say you could earn anywhere from 100-500 a month from a website like that. I'd also consider going after big ticket items. I, for example, was able to milk about \$1800 a month from a search term with < 1000 monthly searches because the commission payout was like \$300.

• I assume this isn't a keyword like "CB product review", because most of them would never get 10K searches a month.

But if you did target a keyword like that, the traffic would convert MUCH better, so it can still be very profitable

Exactly so, the conversion-rate is going to vary dramatically, depending on what the keyword is (and on many other things).

But whatever the conversion-rate, it's going to be absolutely tiny compared with what it could be from building a list. I'm surprised to see this not mentioned at all. Not even trying to build a list is hardly an advisable way to try to sell ClickBank products.

The problem is you can't determine whether tomorrow people are going to pull out their credit cards or not.

You can only really predict with previous experience on the same keywords/traffic generation methods.

And as Alexa said keywords will change conversion rates massivley if your not using a list buying keywords will convert so much higher.
