Page growth velocity = penalty / slap?

Hey there,
I have planned a massive Growth of my site content (mainly unique) and I will be going from around 4000 pages to about 100,000 once I update the new pages.

Any ideas on Panda issues with a site growing rapidly?
I was going to use the canonical meta tag for my publishing stubs (eg holder pages with minimal resource)

Thanks heaps for any help!
Jay

They used to say that a site that went from 0 to 10,000 page off-the-bat might attract a penalty, but to my knowledge, Google rethought that policy and eliminated it with the Google Caffeine update in January 2010.

My thoughts are that there is some kind of [new pages/links] ratio in the Google algoritm

If your site grows to fast (100's of pages per day/week), but receives a low amount of good inbound links, you will get slapped or your new pages won't get indexed.

Any tips for keeping my nose clean from Panda? A chunk of my content on Adslgeek.com is duplicate, so I am looking to rewrite it to be original / and I am spinning it by merging and reformatting beyond recognition what I do have.

    Cheers

So I have been meaning to have a low velocity very deep linking strategy mainly via manual forum posts.

Sound like that might be important..

Only prob is paying for / generating even 100k links (eg 1/page) seems pretty expensive but as the words are low hanging fruit should be easy to rank for.

Stupid thing is I am scared to do stuff but the content is acually good original useful content etc sucks to have a slap hanging over us all..

It wasn't the duplication of articles that got the article directories slapped in Panda.

It was the lack of value.

But how does a search engine know whether the content has value?

You have to look at what they can see as a determinate on what is value and what is not.

Think comments on content and inbound links to content.
