Google +1's new tweeks MY ADVICE: DON'T BUY!

We saw a few threads here and on many other forums that Google '1 will fail and isn't that good as Google thinks. However i don't know if will fail or not, even i don't have any real results about the effect of +1's received. Well here is the short story.

Just few hours ago i browsed a lot of +1 exchange and +1 sell websites and thought that is a great opportunity since is new enough to dominate the market.

I planed to offer +1 packages on cheap rates for any website owner and the simply outsource the job to other websites and just take the revenue. Sounds good, easy plan that has to work. Wanted to start instantly bout I thought that i sleep one more on it.

Now i wake up and check this out: Google removed every +1's that i got from these sites and services. Spent few bucks on it to test the services for outsourcing. Seems that all +1's that are not coming from the search results or from the page itself, ARE REMOVED BY GOOGLE.

Ok i think that this is OK, since we probably will have a more cleaner system like the other ones. I'm pissed of a bit for the spent dollars but also I'm happy that i don't begun the process and don't buyd domain for the service also promotion was not started so i WON only with a few hours.

However...

My advice, don't buy any +1's even if you want to. Wait until the site owners find some solution for it or buy only real +1's from peoples that visit your website, and +1 it.

Regards,
daSSad

You should be grateful they didn't de-index your site too. Any time you try to skew results with Google, you're going to get caught sooner or later.

Yeap that's true. However new services like this one are always tested on free sites or blogs I never use my established websites for such tests.

I find it surprising that people actually thought that Google wouldn't have had a plan against gaming +1's all along, especially since they affect personalized search results.

Google isn't stupid and saw this coming WAY before you or I did.

I've already seen a number of people tell me +1's are hurting their sites. This could obviously just be part of the Google dance/temporary issue but it's important not to rush into getting tons of +1's right now for sure.

I guess it depends on where you are ranking. If you start +1 your sites and your not even getting any traffic because your sitting on page 3, then yeah it could look suspicious. But like any thing else, people will try to think that they can outsmart google. Some might, but the second that google finds out that they are, they will get penalized.

The whole idea of Google penalizing sites for +1 purchases does not make sense. If that's what happens what would stop me from purchasing 500 +1's for each of my competitive websites? That's like saying that too many backlinks and Google will sandbox you...purchase 10k link package for your competitors and eat that sand right?

I don't buy it. I'm not sure if +1 will be great or an epic fail but the idea that Google penalizes websites based on this doesn't make sense to me. They may remove them but I doubt they penalize the website for it.

I agree, it's not necessarily them penalizing a site, but I think it's more that they'll just remove them and not count them.

Just how does one do a Google Plus +1 without visiting the page or seeing it in the search results?

Just check out these websites: plused.net and plusex.net just two . I found other 3 similar websites and also few that sell +1's. Also lots of forum threads like here to on WF. The funny thing is that everybody wants +1's even if thei don't know what that about or if will be used to determinate our rankings or whatever but it's a "OMG it's a Google product" effect.

My question would be the +1's that were removed did you get them from the the plus exchange sites (such as plused.net)? You aren't the only one by the way - there are a lot of people complaining that their +1's from plused.net were removed.

That doesn't answer my question. I know they will be sold. I knew that when Google launched +1.

My question is how does someone increase a site's +1 without actually visiting the site and clicking on the button or clicking on the button in the serps?

              Exactly.

The question was, "My question is how does someone increase a site's +1 without actually visiting the site and clicking on the button or clicking on the button in the serps?"

Clickjacking accomplishes this, whether the visitor knows it or not, and is on the site in question or not, just like it can increase a site's FB likes.

Note: I definitely do not approve of clickjacking.

Ok, but i think that she was interested by the method itself and not the way that the user clicks a link. Also you have right since that is a method to get clicks for my method

I don't see Google +1 as being that big of a deal for webmasters. The same things that are wildly popular will still be wildly popular. The same things that people like to share will still be shared. The same people who try to get their page to the top of the rankings by buying fake votes will still be nuked.

Someones affiliate website will still be ignored by the general population whether it has 0 real +1's or 5000 fake ones.

If you thought Adwords bans were rough, wait til Google bans you from all of their services for trying to artificially inflate your social networking votes.

This is part of their big social networking push. A huge issue for Google and the company has a lot riding on the line. Don't expect much tolerance.

Frankly, if I was Google and confirmed you were trying to wreck their publicly exposed voting system (and it wasn't some competitor trying to harm you), your sites would be gone from search and your related Google services (gmail, youtube, docs, etc.) would be gone. That's the biggest leverage Google has to protect their company.

Really? Got proof? I'd like to see where Google actually said anything about +1's increasing rankings. Generally, they're pretty quiet about what increases rankings.

Here's an independent study that shows you might be wrong:

Google +1 Increases CTR in Organic SERPs, Ranking Boost Likely [Study] - Search Engine Watch (#SEW)

+1 annotations seem to have a positive effect on search impressions - As you have to be logged in to see +1 in search results, there is a tendency for personalization and search history to come into play. As a result, +1'd selections tend to have a higher position when users re-visit earlier searches.

Also, as would be expected and as is currently the case for 'shared on Twitter' results, +1'd results are highly visible in the social circle results which tend to appear mid way down the SERPs page.
The SEO Effect Google +1 Experiment whitepaper, concludes that the Google +1 button saw a 20% increase in rankings which led to a corresponding lift in Clickthrough rate (CTR).
They don't need to lie about +1's to create hype, they're doing a damn good job creating hype with the limited invite system.

Those stats are for Google Plus, but the +1 button is already in use on more of the top 10,000 websites than the Twitter tweet button, so that should tell you about that too.

They're one in the same. When you +1, it updates your feed in Plus. The +1 button was deployed first, but it's akin to the "Like" button which updates your Facebook feed by posting the link that you just "Liked". But the +1 button is integral to Plus.

Dunno why people think that it's different, because it's not.

It's no different than the "Tweet this link" button, "Add This" button, etc... It's just Google's iteration of the same thing that happens to also be wired into core search.

You must be seeing something different than I am on G+, because +1's aren't coming into my stream from off of the site. They show on your profile (the +1's that you've given to other sites), but on my end I'm not seeing +1's from other sites appearing in my stream. I know different people are seeing slightly different things on G+ as they test and implement new features, but I'm not seeing this... yet.

No it doesn't show up directly in my post feed... YET, but I can guarantee that when it's all said and done it will.

            Here's why...

When someone +1's something you posted or commented it shows up in your notifications (which then shows the full topic and thread).

Now here's the real trick to see what I am talking about, and why this is forthcoming.

Go +1 a page out on the web... try it on your own blog.

Then do a search in Google for the title of your blog entry. The search +1 icon will be highlighed with a "You shared this" and a tiny icon of your Google+ profile avatar.

It's all one in the same.

There's a study done by SEOmoz not too long ago which examined how the various social networks and their sharing capabilities affected search rankings. Just Google: Facebook + Twitter's Influence on Google's Search Rankings, and you should find it.

I read another article they did but I couldn't find it again where they actually tested the effect of tweets and likes on some dummy URL's with keyword optimized content with positively correlating results. If anyone can track it down and post it I think it would help.

Google has been trying to nail the "social search result" for some time now and so if you think this will have no bearing on your site's overall authority you will soon be sadly mistaken.

People never used to "like" or share things at any meaningful rate until marketers figured out a way to incentivize and promote these broadcasts.

Don't be stubborn. Just bite the bullet and accept the fact that we all have to learn how to leverage yet another new communication medium.

I think that this +1 thing will have real effect when Google Profiles will be used at least that much as any other social network like Facebook, MySpace etc.

If Google Profiles will reach that level than we will have a similar effect as Facebook likes, since +1-ed pages appear in our profiles, also our friends see those links so we should get some traffic from it.

As a "side effect" we get some "trust" since if a visitor sees a bigass +1 button button on our site and sees that 80K users +1'd our page than we should get some trust.

Also i don't think that Google will use anything to determinate the rank of our sites if that can be compromised from outside the big G.

I am curious to see how the whole plus thing works out in the long run. I had a feeling we would start seeing these services available to buy +s shortly after they were announced.

I would not buy them quite yet until how we see how Google is going to penalize the people who are buying them now. lol

All +1's where removed and I'm not mad at all for that since i don't started a service that don't works However all my +1's were removed that i got from these two sites and also the others sites to.

It's funny since I just checked and there are new sites to +1 on both exchange sites also few visitors on both When their will observe that their hard work the clicking is for nothing

Another fun fact is that Google +1 was only in BETA when these sites appeared, also both sites where in BET when thei appeared automation tools for clicking those +1 buttons

However i would like to see the face of the owners of these websites or even i would like to know if their observed the changes at all

no... I answered your question, you have just to take a look behind the hood

These two sites for example are using the manipulated version of the +1 script. As u saw, thei inject you URL in the +1 code, for example check this out, comes from plused.net:

    <iframe allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" hspace="0" id="I1_1310509303409" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" name="I1_1310509303409" scrolling="no" src="https://plusone.google.com/u/0/_/+1/button?hl=en-US&amp;jsh=r%3Bgc%2F22224365-adc8a19e#url=http%3A%2F%2FYOURURL.COM&amp;size=standard&amp;count=true&amp;id=I1_131050 9303409&amp;parent=http%3A%2F%2Fplused.net&amp;rpctoken=636566305&amp;_methods=onPlusOne%2C_ ready%2C_close%2C_open%2C_resizeMe" style="left: 0px; top: 0px; width: 106px; height: 24px; position: static; visibility: visible; " tabindex="-1" vspace="0" width="100%"></iframe>
You can see that the +1 button is displayed in a iFrame also in the bold is your URL that will be +1'd by the users of the sites.

So the process is something like this, the user registers on the site, adds his website to the system, the website, rotates the same iframed +1 button with the different urls, users click on it and receive points, for the points you receive another +1's from others.

Also please note that the refering URL of the click is included in the URL that you visit in fact when you click on it, so it's easy to track from where comes the click. If don't comes from the +1'd website than it's logic that it's fake.

I hope that i answered your question at this time.

    Best regards,
    daSSad

P.S. at least this is how i would do it

I'm not the owner of these sites so i don't know how thei really work, but this is what i see from it but also saw the plusex.net code is sold for $500 so if you want to check it out how it works just buy it and check it out

Also the owner of plusex.net is Romanian and the owner of plused.net is a member of a well known black hat community.

(I told you that i checked the market )

OP, your +1s probably came from YouLikeHits. I tried a bunch of them from there too and they got removed as well.

I also noticed that YouLikeHits doesn't offer +1's anymore either.

Well, a part of them. I had 800PLUS +1's on the test website, ok that's insane i know. Used all three mentioned sites to get those +1's,

youlikehits offered the bonus codes so was easy to start up with 350 points

plusex.net offers a one point per ref link visit so i needed just some proxyes

plused.net can be played out, just few minutes of delphi programing

And voila i had those +1's for about 3 days

I buyd also 200 +1's from a website, but this time to another website these are removed to

However i have at this time 17 +'s on teh first page and 3 on the second one.

      MY ADVICE AGAIN

don't buy! USE it on your site, can happen that your users use it and like it and also can happen that will have some effect on our ranks but don't buy and don't waste your time.

P.S. only youlikethis gived back all the spent points (even if these points was for free, i think that this is a clever website so i will check it out later)
