"Error Establishing a Network Connection" Help and Indexing Problems

Hello fellow Warriors,

I recently created a Amazon affiliate site, and after my site got indexed I put in affiliate links for the one review page I have up. (I don't know if it's a coincidence, but at that point, the site was indexed, and showed up for the keyword phrase -- albeit very low.)

The next day, I notice the site is no longer ranked. I visit the site - it's still there, but when I wanted to login, the Wordpress error of failing to establish a network connection came up. I have Godaddy and tinkered with the MySQL thingy for a little bit and the next day I was able to log on (I have no idea if that was coincidence, but it's relevant for chronology). I was able to change a thing or two, but it didn't immediately show change.

Today, the site does not come up on Google, I cannot log on, but I can visit the page, but once again cannot log on.

Did I mention I have it set up with Google Webmasters and it looks like it should be indexed and whatnot?

Is there anything I can do? Is this site lost? Is there any causation or correlation to the network connection and not being indexed on a search? Thanks for any help.

Get a normal host, that would be the very first advice that comes to my mind...

Sounds like your host sucks to be fair. Get a decent host such as A Small Orange, none of this rubbish would happen - unless you're tinkering with databases, in which case it would be your fault - though with ASO, they would help you within the hour to get any issues fixed.

Also you will get used to your site dropping in and out of the rankings, it's called the Google dance and many of my sites are doing it at the moment. Once your domain ages and gains a little trust within Google, this weird phenomenon will stop and your site will be rooted to a spot in the rankings (except for natural fluctuations).

Like I said, I have no idea if it's causal or a correlation. I've never had problems with Godaddy, so it may indeed only be an anomaly. However, the fact that it doesn't come up at all when I do a search is a bigger problem this moment.

So, should I change host and cross my fingers?

Thanks, I'll do that in a few days. I'm visiting my parents for two days, away from my computer (laptops are a PITA compared to a desktop with an actual mouse and two monitors). (I work as a restaurant until this IM things takes off, so my weekend is usually during the week.)

I've had good luck with Godaddy to this point, but have absolutely no qualms switching.

No serious IM'er uses GoDaddy as a hosting company, they have too many problems, especially with MySQL and Wordpress...

I'd suggest Hostgator or Bluehost, the shared accounts work great for IM'ers just starting out...

... or get a cheap VPS and be your own boss.

I just typed in my domain on Google with the "www" and it is currently indexed. And, as of this post, I can access my WP dashboard. I am still probably going to change host because I can't have this happening again. But the problem doesn't seem as bad as before.
