Should I get my eBook turned into audio?

If it was just and e-book I would have already done it.

But it is a 'How to' guide that is rammed full of pictures to illustrate what it is im saying.

Bit i'm thinking that without the pictures, an audio file would be useless.

What do you think?

Thanks

I think turning ebooks into audio is a great idea, there is a huge market of people that download ebooks (as audio) in fact it is one way that i get traffic to my sites that not many people are tapping into right now.

its a good idea since you can add some additional idea and information when you try to convert into audio.

What level of sales/conversions are you seeing as it is?

Offering an audio can be a sensible idea...if you are seeing
some decent sales now. If you are thinking of adding audio
just because you believe it will be better is pointless.

Adding an audio option and split testing is the correct way
    to go about it.

    Good luck

I have had 1062 site visits from 9th June.
Average time spent on the site is 7mins 34sec
And I've sold around 120 copies

I'm only driving traffic to the site via a forum that I am a member of.

I was going to give a recording of the book away as a bonus to try and add a bit more value.

I would offer a video instead of audio. Today more people like to learn by watching a video. And giving them the video and a report will make them much more happy.

Try to shoot the video with Camtasia Studio, get their free trial version and use it. Also isn't so expensive either so you can buy after this , if you think you'll shoot videos in the future.

I thought it was only me who didn't like video, but have a look at this thread http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ng-videos.html

I think it comes down to individual prefernces, so why not appeal to everyone and offer all 3?

If you offer all 3 , and you don't limit to 1 option , then all of your customers will be happy.

Some don't like to read, other don't like to watch videos or listen an audio file.

But it's hard to transform an "How To..." report in audio. It's hard to explain , that's why I suggested video, cause is more easy in this case.

It might defeat the object and I don't know whether it would be possible but, could you have an audio with just the necessary diagrams/images attached, so that someone could refer back to them?

Obviously, it would depend on your subject and whether you have just a few images, or lots of them. But, it might be worth considering as a possibility, so you can appeal to more people.

There are a lot of images. A Video may be a better option. Just need to learn how to do it!

Are there any decent guides on how to make a video course?

I had thought of that. But the thought of creating a video scares me to death!

This is my first attempt at anything like this. I'm not a technical person in the slightest.

The book iteself is only 70 pages in length so I don't with a video would be very long?

Some people prefer to read, while others prefer to listen, or watch a video. It all depends on people's individual learning method.

Even without pictures, some people might be able to conjure up the image or follow instructions, if given in the right way some might find this easier than reading instructions, or even following a diagram.

You might need to change the wording slightly, or add a few extra instrcutions, to make it suitable for audio, but if it's going to increase your income, it has to be worth it, doesn't it?

If your subject allows, I would look at turning it into and audio book and a video training guide - that way you'll appeal to a lot more people, regardless of their learning style.

I think it is a good idea also you can have an audio version of your e-book as well as a regular e-book version. Why spread yourself thin by putting all your eggs in one basket?

The more you get your ebook out there the better off you will be. I definitely say go for it!

    Good luck!

Every individual has different modalities on learning
Personally I like reading than hearing or watching but
for marketing point of view I am leaning towards creating
video and audio version of my products due to its
    high perceive value.

      That's a brilliant idea!

      It brings up two opportunities:

      1. Increase conversions, and more importantly...
      2. Increase your prices!

If you do this right you will make more money, even with less sales.

Now, since you said there are diagrams to be looked at, you may want to changed the wording a bit.

You may also add a little PDF just with illustrations for easy reference. Go for it!

Your idea is pretty good. Making an eBook into an audio is more personal way to invite people. It is very interesting and attractive way to do it. It is also a good idea to give more information.

Fifteeen per cent of the world hearing impaired

A similar number is visually impaired

Covering video, audio and text you stand a good chance of reaching a universal market

      Personally i prefer text

I am more of a pdf reader, but if it is a subject that is how to oriented, I do like something visual and auditory. I think an audio version could be useful and you can reference pages of the pdf when you are pointing to the illustrations. Another way to use audio could be an introduction on your site people hear that tells them what they'll be learning. I think video too is a good suggestion for your material. With audios, you can also upload that to the podcast sites if you make an intro version.

I've heard some folks say turning an ebook into audio is good idea due to your ability to pass that same valuable information across otherwise inaccessible channels, ie RSS feeds. Gotta say it's not a bad idea. Getting your information in front of more people usually isn't a bad idea.
