Hey everybody,
would you do it?

I'm upgrading my website and I have a sales page. We also have a FB page. I wonder if this shows a social proof or on the other hand a distractor for the buying proccess.
what do you think?

thanks,
Shlomo

  • You have asked a pretty unconventional question. This sure can be a distraction during the C2A phase.

But let's say you have loads of fans on your Facebook fan page. Maybe I will show it at the top with the people's faces to create a credibility factor...but the main focus should always be on the copy.

I am a copywriter, NOT a website designer. You gotta think how to lay it out. But one thing, a sales copy is a highly tactical and spearheaded write-up. It's NOT a blog. So, I would think twice about using something different or breaking the rule unless it sounds great.

You see, in a sales copy, you don't really let the readers to decide what they are gonna do. In a sales copy, you COMMAND them to do what you want.

And a FB like button is leaving it upon them what to do or creating another exit option for them - doesn't sound so viable to me!
  • Hey,
This makes sense. Since my FB page, doesn't have many likes now, I'll leave the sales page without it.

anyway, why is it an unconventional question?

    thanks,
    Shlomo
