Hey guys,

I'm going to use Kunaki for a new product of mine.

It's a DVD - like a movie DVD with chapter screen and video, etc.

I just need to know whether you can sell DVD videos with Kunaki? I know they offer CD's and DVD's but their upload program scares me.

Does anyone have any experience of uploading an actual DVD movie with Kunaki?

I haven't personally used kunaki but have several friends who have used it for their DVD productions with great success - some of whom have sold 1000's of kunaki produced dvds. Just be prepared to wait a long while for the upload to complete and then be sure to get a sample completed product to be sure everything is good and you will be fine.

I've used Kunaki for several months. Be ready for upload times of about an hour a gig of data. At least that was my experience. Don't be afraid of the uploader. If it stops, you can start it back up right where you left off.

They do give you the option of listing with them and will create a very basic product page for you. It's so basic I just link back to it for pictures.

I have found Kunaki to provide very quick turn around time but what kills me is that, if you are selling individual units, the shipping they charge is $5 in addition to the $1.75 production fee. To me that amount is too high IMHO and will likely turn buyers off so I list my CDs for a flat rate and build the rest of the shipping into the cost of my product.

    Hi Rich

I have two DVD products that I sell using Kunaki - 24 Hour Product Creation and Beginners Mastermind.

You just master the DVD locally and then upload to the Kunaki facility. It's important to remember that Kunaki simply "replicate" and don't "master" so you'll want to check the DVD works on your player before uploading.

    I hope this helps!

I have used Kunaki in the past....its not the most professional looking service...but they do a great job on custom dvds...have never had a problem...i'd recommend them just be patient on the uploads....you won't find a better price though

That depends on if you use their graphics or not. If you use the preset templates your output will look average at best.

I have custom graphics made for all my products and the production quality is amazing. Even more so when you consider it costs just $1.95 per unit on demand.

      Cheers

I don't know how well Kunaki would work for a product - hard to sell "just a disk" for most things. They really do very bare minimum packaging, etc. We're looking into them as a possibly faster way to deliver replacements for defective media.

I forgot to mention that we also sell various boxsets using Kunaki too. Here's an example of one of our kits straight out of the box...

Obviously though the trade off for lower pricing is a lack of customisation in terms of packaging and production.

That's pretty good for cheap and on-demand!

I've used Kunaki many times and they really do deliver.

I have to mirror what a lot of folks say here ...

YES the program for upload is a bit "strange" looking (but it works) ...
YES it can take a LOT of time for the disk image to upload (but it works) ...
YES the cost is very reasonable for an info product ....

In the thread someone said that the cost is a bit high etc. I will differ a bit on that. YES YOU COULD get duplication done a bit cheaper. BUT ... if you are talking about small "on demand" quantity with very fast production and delivery, you really can't beat the price. ESPECIALLY when the product comes in a NICE DVD case, shrink wrapped, screen printed disk and nice cover art (which you can upload and they can look VERY professional) and shipped in a bubble wrapped shipper to the customer.

      Total cost about $6.75

And if you are selling a product for $47 ... $67 ... $97 ... $197 or MORE ...your cost of goods is still very low for your profit potential.

I LIKE KUNAKI because once I load the product - I submit the order via Kunaki and pay for the creation and IT'S DONE. I'm not dealing with creation, packaging, shipping etc.

So yeah, you could get mass duplication done in other areas and save some money per unit, but when you consider your TIME if you are getting orders and shipping disks, the Kunaki system REALLY is worth it.

Heck, I even have a script that if I sell a product on Ebay ... that the order is AUTOMATICALLY sent to Kunaki at the conclusion of the auction and payment is made! Heck I was out of town when some auctions completed and the script and KUNAKI got the disks out to my customers! THAT is the way I like doing business!

Anyway ... Give Kunaki a try ... I think you'll really like it!

      Hi Dan

I was actually pretty amazed when I started using their service. We pay under $16 to produce our 8 DVD boxsets and they are produced and shipped the same day.

Most US customers receive their products within 3 days of order. UK customers usually receive their products within 7 days. It's super fast in comparison to some of the other solutions out there.

The shipping is also extremely flexible. Below is another boxset we sell, and we often add a secret bonus DVD when shipping this. It costs only an extra $1.95 to do this and is an awesome reciprocity builder (we email people to build the value of the freebie while also presenting an upsell opportunity)

To get a close up of the quality of the final product you can see the picture below...

(we sell this DVD for $197 and the fact that it costs $1.95 to produce on demand feels pretty nice)

So that people don't think I own Kunaki I should point out that you can't do things like add stickers to your products, and they don't accept returns on your behalf.

      Thanks
