The disclosures get a bit confusing after reading about it from so many sources.

Years ago I created the Webmaster's Legal Guide for Warriors specifically because of the Priority Digital crap.

In some respects, those "legal terms" would invite a lawsuit, not serve to protect you from anything. I had a case where the other side made a PD type of mistake in their legal terms and it cost them about $500,000.

There is no set "FTC disclosure statement" and you're done. No 10 seconds of copy and pasting and you're free to go.

There is 2-pronged approach to the disclosure issue:

First, certainly, general broad language designed to protect you.

Second, specific targeted language for your particular website.

What disclosures are required, and where they are made, depends on your website.

A make money product is obviously different than a health cures product

A product with testimonials creates it's own issues. There is, unfortunately, so simple answer except to start with competent disclosures, and then modify them for your particular site(s).

What I have learned is that it is not specifically spelled out BUT precedent indicates you should have a disclosure stating your links make you money on every page or at the bottom of every post. The FTC has found that consumers do not assume that a disclosure posted once applies to every link. Err on the side of caution, make a short disclosure and include it on every page/post.
