EZA sent me a package?

I haven't used them for a while, but have just recieved an email from them saying they sent me a package but it was returned as they don't have the correct address for me.

I checked my account, but it has blank address information, rather than incorrect information.

SO this feels a bit suspicious, especially as I have not used them in a while.

Has anyone received the email, or received a package out of the blue?

Did you take part in the HAHD Challenge? Maybe you qualified and they sent you your price.

I received mine a few weeks ago.

I did not take part. I have not done anything on it for a few months.

I received some kind of notice a short time ago and checked my account - the address was from two moves ago. I upgraded the info, but haven't received anything in the mail. I did add content a couple of months ago, but rarely submit anything at EZA.

EZA authors often receive a few freebies shortly after being upgraded to their Platinum account level. In my brother's case, it consisted of a mouse pad, a notepad and a pen. And maybe a couple of other things.

In my case, I never received jack squat.

    *shakes fist at EZA*

EZA mousepad, Paper pad with "articles I gotta write" and of course, the coffee cup and a packet of coffee have been recieved over time. The coffee cup more than once, so perhaps it was for the two HAHD promotions I've entered. I think it usually has more to do with the quantity of articles you write, or the "level" they put you in.

    Stop! Think!

If the address field in your account was blank as you say, they wouldn't have sent a package. No one sends a package without an address to send it to. So, no package was sent and no package was returned. Someone is trying to scam you.

I am thinking. But everyone else says that EZA like sending out freebies. I like coffee mugs. But am not particularly excited at the prospect of a mousepad. If they really wanted my address all they need to do is a whois lookup on my domains anyway.

Well, don't take the "stop, think" part personally, I only wanted to get your attention because others were suggesting it might be legitimate. If they didn't have your address they didn't send a package. That means they're lying. That spells SCAM to me, and it's an old one that's been sent out under many different false identities.

I was one of those who suggested it was probably legitimate, but I admit that I'd just arisen from my sleep, and wasn't thinking too clearly.

Obviously, if there's no address then there was no parcel sent. That'd just be stupid.

However, there's another possibility. Since I believe you're required (am I mistaken?) to enter your address details upon registering for EZA, they probably didn't foresee (nor make accomodations for) having to send out any emails to the effect of "we tried to send your package, but we don't have your address". In that sense, it's possible that what you received was simply the stock, pre-written response for any undeliverable/rejected package that is returned, even if, in your case, the package never even sent out to begin with.

    Just a thought.

Ezinearticles.com which is not an article farm, it is an article directory. It was never meant to be farm. Yes they make some money from Google AdSense but not nearly as much as they make with paid subscriptions.

(It is free to use the site, but paid service gets your articles approved faster)

It is still superb for all those people who use it correctly. In fact, my articles are performing better than ever before, now that they have gotten rid of some of the junk.

It is only those people who were using it for something other than its intended purpose who think it is no longer useful.

Anyway, yeah I got the mug and coffee, along with a free month of premium service, which absolutely sold me on the idea. I gave away the coffee or something but still use the mug for my tea. It was a nice surprise and makes them feel more like a real company rather than an anonymous web business... Kind of the way a lot of people feel when they get that follow-up call from Aweber.

(Hey, there may be a lesson in that for all those people out there who are trying that "Internet Marketing" thing and want to separate themselves from the masses...)

    It's true, I really do love Ezinearticles.com

I don't have any proof, and I do use and like EZA, myself, but I feel strongly that it's actually the opposite way round: they make far more money from Google AdSense and other forms of advertising than they do their paying members.

The truth is, I don't know anyone who has a paid EZA subscription. It simply serves no useful purpose for most people.

      This isn't actually true, I don't think.

Platinum/Diamond authors do get priority, but "faster approval" isn't a selling point of the paid membership over non-paid: only in comparison to Basic / Basic Plus-level accounts. It certainly doesn't grant you any further (measurable, at least) priority over Platinum/Diamond-level account holders. Just about the only feature that might justify the purchase of that subscription is the "scheduled publication" feature. But again, most people have no need for this at all.

They sent me a coffee cup for being a Platinum member but how could they send you something if they didn't have an address?
